Bit more repaint. The first picture is before any paint. I am slowly adding grey tones to replace the gold. The face is complete though. Every piece blends together now. I used a triple thick gloss on it. The grey is made with copper and grey combined.
Thanks. To the defense of Necas lack of gloss choice is actually very accurate. The alien suit was very matte. A couple of scenes show matte texture and a couple show gloss. When I do repaints the gloss just makes the colors underneath pop.Nice job! The gloss looks really good on it. That was one thing I noticed about the Alien's factory paint apps right out of the box, was that it was kind of flat looking, but the gloss really brings life to it.
Well of course on a mass $100 figure they will cut corners. But tbh the factory is great. But a simple re touch of the tone with a little gloss will make it top notch. As for the varient out there , I think the closed lips had become more rare. To each their own but I absolutely love the closed mouth. It just shows that side that was unique to the alien. Slow movements and calm acting with full control. Ridley had the idea the alien was bruising as it got older and had a very short lifespan. That it was almost dying. Of course as the series went on that was gone and we got all teeth.Excellent job. I fear that the stock figure would fall all too short of yours were I to buy it. Also, buying online for this one wouldn't seem to be ideal given some of the issues and the variant that's out there.

I dunno about the inner maggot dome that's nasty lol. I like the erotic sleek mess. Plus the alien wasn't seen that much it would have shown too much. Maggots nasty...Yeah, I always like that idea that the Alien grew so fast that the coloration was due to bruising and pooled blood. Too bad the inner-dome maggot idea didn't work, it would have been really creepy to see on-screen in fleeting glimpses.

How safe do you think it is to leave the figure in extreme poses? Isn't the rubber material the hip/mid section know for tearing after prolonged stress in unusual poses which fold or crimp the material?
I wouldn't recommend it. I left one of my 7" Warriors in a crouching position, and while the rubber didn't tear, it is pretty much stretched out and deformed now where if he is just in a standing up pose the gaps between the bottom of the rubber pelvis area and leg joint are huge and it will not go back to normal.
I'd image the hip rubber is a bit more sturdier on the larger figure, but it also is a lot more weight, so i imagine the same thing would happen.
