Gamestop's website (of all places) has posted these figures for sale with an availability date set as April 30th.

Sucks that its so late. I was really hoping for a release more on par with the new Colonial Marines Video game, but eh....at least we now have a hard date.

Edit/update: Amazon's website still says freaking June 28. Man I hope Amazon is wrong there...

2nd EDIT/Update: Neca website confirms "APRIL 2013" as release date.

Im deffo picking up the new Warrior!

NECA needs to move priority onto the Queen now. They got the first wave of Prometheus done so go back onto Aliens as they made new Warrior so Queen is logical next step.

Call me crazy, but I think the aliens and predators have gotten enough love. Give me accurate marines WITH HELMETS dammit.

The whole USCM squad or bust.
:lecture

This was confirmed the moment NECA ran out of Predators to make, so they decided to make ones from a fan film....:slap

From NECA's Twitter...getting ready for ToyFair.

I would buy the hell out of the diorama if they ever made it available.

And in a sad note...I guess that is the final nail in the "helmet-less" coffin. :(

*And 'no', the excuse "helmeted versions will be in series 2" (in a blatant money grab) does NOT make me feel better.

The whole "money grab" thing is just getting old.

It's how they run their business and it OBVIOUSLY works for them.

They're not out to make you "feel better"...they're a company...they're out to make as much money as possible while still providing you with action figures that you want.

So...it's time to get over it and be fooking grateful that someone has decided to give us well sculpted Colonial Marine/Alien/Predator action figures.

These figures look incredible, I cant wait to have them. I love the diorama, too bad we can't have one of those.

+1

I'm just thrilled that anyone is doing figures of the movies I grew up loving and doing them so well. And I honestly couldn't care less that they're reusing the same pieces here and there.

I've been a huge NECA fan since they started kicking *** with the Hellraiser line.

Randy confirmed to me on twitter that the helmets "Require different heads. They will be offered later. Details at ToyFair."

OK, I admit I took the "too easy" shot at the "big corperation" out of frustration, and I can see how that angle is pretty played out. My bad.

BUT:

- I didnt say "they" should make me feel better. I was anticipating a peer response to my gripe along the lines of "well hopefully they will be in series 2" and I wanted to get a jump on it.

- I never said I wasn't going to get over it, nor did I say I wouldnt take whatever they give me. That doesn't mean my #1 complaint is baseless. Its MacFarlane Hicks-helmet-gate part 2! Better sculpts don't make it any less disappointing to me!

- And finally as far as things "getting old", the 'shut-up-and-be-happy-you-get-anything' argument is one I wouldn't mind never hearing again. Logic like that would leave only butt-kissing and silence (and no improvements).

- I never complained about re-using "pieces here and there". I complained about having to buy the exact same figure twice in order to get a single accessory that the character (Hudson) wore 98% of the time he was on screen. That, in my opinion, is excessive.

What can I say? I hope the Toy Fair reveals make me look foolish. Nothing would make me happier than to see I got all riled up for nothing.

What Sabers is saying, is the Red fan film Predator is the Paranormal Activity of the toy industry.

If doing it the way they're doing it was the only way they were ever going to take a chance on human characters and make the marines then I can accept it. Otherwise, a second interchangeable helmeted headsculpt per figure wouldn't seem like too much to ask IMO. I don't recall seeing any bases, environment pieces, alien eggs etc so yeah an extra headsculpt ought not be pushing it for a single figure release.

why is everyone picking on poor Red... he is the only new predator in the whole wave lol... would you rather have mouth half open berzerker or something lol

Agreed. They included a second headsculpt with most of their Terminator figures, why not Aliens?:dunno I guess they'd rather you spend $15 on a "variant" figure because it has a different weapon. :lol
