NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

As for the Alien 3 creature pack, I too am kind of intrigued as to how they are gonna go about it if indeed we have not seen the complete set up as of yet. The safe bet would be the bambi burster but maybe we could also get either a chest bursted dog or ox as well ?

I think its more or less going to be Ripley 8, the Newborn and either a warrior drone or another easy retool. Don't get me wrong if they did Call I would be pleasantly surprised, but so far NECA have not dropped any hints about Call or any of the other main characters from Resurrection for that matter.

...the warrior is an "easy retool" as it shares a lot with the AVP warrior.
Sadly, aside from a possible Resurrection Queen I think that's it for figures from that movie.

...he said 2/3 have been shown, and we've seen the Queen Facehugger and the Queen burster, so that means only the Bambi burster is left to be confirmed

I didnt even think about a AR Queen. That would be quite different if they did her with the birthing sack to put the newborn in.

I'm like 90% sure that they already have Winona Ryder's likness included in their overall Aliens License. Pretty sure that they confirmed it as well a year or so ago, couldn't find the tweet to my dismay. But I reckon they'd answer the question with a YES if someone asked.

If this is correct we can get a Call figure at any point if they think it's worth making.

Ripley 8, Call and a warrior is about all I'd want from that one. Don't care to have the newborn hybrid. Ron Perlman's character would be cool to have but that's a huge longshot. He had the best line of the movie......Earth....what a ****hole!

I also don't understand the appeal of the newborn and I won't be buying it. As far as Call goes...I don't see it. Even talking with people who actually liked Resurrection, I have never once heard someone say the reason they liked it was Call. When you break it down action figure wise, she would just be a pretty face (likely a poorly painted one) with meaningless accessories. I can think of 4 human characters I'd rather see in action figure form from that film, plus the creatures (which will always get preference from NECA) so I don't see any way she makes the cut of top 3 for the wave. I also highly doubt we get 2 waves from that film.

My obvious guess for the Resurrection wave will be Ripley, Cloned Xeno and Newborn. I don't like the newborn either and hated the way it killed a bad ass ***** like the Queen. But knowing NECA, they can take unpopular designs and make good figures of them. Look at the recent AVP Predators.

There was talk of them revisiting the Predalien maybe next year, another design I absolutely dislike.

Probably right about the figure assortment. But my hope for Call is the fact that they made Bishop. Now if they would just make an Ash....

I think Call could still be possible also because it would be the time to give the Alien wave something not many toylines have, and that is a female droid.

As for the Predalien again, like the Newborn, even if some fans do not like the idea or design in the movie, NECA tend to have a pretty good way of taking some plain or uninteresting characters and making their toy forms quite cool. I mean, the many ways they can design and reshape the Newborn to make him pretty monstrous and fit in with the rest of the line is appealing for one for me.

I dont think they will deviate too much from the original movie design but add more little details here and there to really make the figure worth the time and money. They may also make him taller than usual so he can tower over Ripley like he did at the ending of the film.

One think they have to get right though for the newborn is the eyes. They are so expressive yet creepy but they are an essential part of what makes the creature unique and his own. If they could do that and maybe have one or two swap out expressions then I will be fine.

If they decide to do it, they 'll be able to use their original Queen sculpt for the upper body & head. Sounds feasible.

As for Call, I think this character was not well received by fans (even less than the movie itself) and that I think factors into NECA's decisions...

This just hit me. It's been 20 years since A:R. 20 years! I still remember going to see it on opening day, which was a school day, with my dad. And then we get home and Aliens is playing on TV... (I like A:R despite its numerous flaws).

Just some info on Series 10,

The case is split pretty weird between the figures, first time there's been a series like this:

Mantis Alien x6
Gorilla Alien x5
Alien Queen Facehugger x3

Obviously shows which ones they have the most faith in. Mantis seems to be the favorite, Would be be mine. Not sure on the whole general consensus though.

Also important info for those in the UK (might not be relevant elsewhere) expect another hike in price for these products... these are going to retail close to if not £30.00 that's $39.49 per figure!

Newt came out better then expected. One of the best in the Alien line so far. Waiting on Vasquez and Frost, which didn't get much coverage at SDCC.
