while i don't like Resurrection designs as well (and any of ADI designs), i have to disagree with you: Unclechopchop is right. A4 aliens were the only aliens with normal explanation of their very different design: giant feet, guts all over the body and so on. because they were born from a mutant queen, who later mutated once again and gave birth to a "newborn" creature. A4 was all about mutations, the idea that Scott steals today with his Properdeus and new crap.
it was because they weren't pure aliens, they were mutants. the only actual DNA mix in the whole quadrilogy.
A3, for example, had no reason to look almost the same as A4 aliens did - muscly shoulders, neck covered with guts and so on. spare the "dna mix" stupid theory, there was never any mix in original alien except for Scott's uneducated brain who was sure that wasps produce hybrids from caterpillars.

I understand and I never refuted the mutation aspect you or unclechopchop mentioned. I just hated the design, it could have been better is all I'm saying. It makes sense that there would me mutations of the xeno and queen since they're taken from Ripley's DNA and all that. That makes sense why the xenos and queen and newborn look the way they do in A4. Now AvP is another issue, why would they look similar to A4 xenos if those were in the past? Only pure xeno is big chap I guess!! OG in my book!

it's the problem of ADI - they can't make anything of their own, they use the pumpkinhead they stole when they departed Winston over and over again.

Please fill me in, as this is the first time I've heard about ADI stealing a Pumpkinhead.

I think he means the concept/idea vs. actually stealing. Tom and Alec both worked in Stan Winston's shop and he (Winston) made and directed Pumpkinhead. I guess you could called it 'professional borrowing' and who knows, they may have some small legal claim to elements of it since they co-designed it I'm sure with Stan. Don't get me wrong, I love the pumpkinhead creature and the movie. I just don't like seeing elements of Pumpkinhead on a xenomorph that's all!

And the irony is that it now looks like Scott is using the more 'creaturesque' design traits to explain the original origins of the Giger/Scott 'Biomechanical' Alien. Looks like ADI and Fox were onto something all along. They take on characteristics of their environments,DNA mutation/munipulation and budget.:wink1:

Have in mind people, Everything comes from something else. Usually called reference. All ideas come from somewhere.

Although my least favourite film in the series, I do hope we get one or two of the clones in their tubes from Resurrection. Having this one, with her hair floating around her in the tube, would make for quite a figure.

That being said, with all the radio silence over at NECA on twitter and everywhere else in regards to the Aliens line, I really am hoping this year's reveals at Alien Day and SDCC will be mind blowing.

Decided to make 2 pillars for my 1/4 scale figures with movie thematic.
They have stand support with wires and light

The people who run The Asylum don't have an original bone in their bodies. I'm surprised that 20th Century Fox never sued them for this as it's a more than obvious ripoff on AVP. Not to mention their films are painful to watch. :monkey4
