I think it's the head that looks is off. The body looks like the engineers suit kind of and it has new hands but the head looks like a rehash and the color is off too.

OK I think this release along with the scarcity of the SDCC Newt has finally broken me of being a completest with this line...

I just dont think I can bring myself to pay $33 for this one.

Sorry but that Vaz is such a let down and cheap looking. They could have done ops battle Vaz which is something everyone wanted. Lame....

I'm guessing battle ops Vazquez is going to get a regular retail release a bit down the line. More than likely they'll be using "Alien Day" as a way to squeeze out Kenner repaints of the marines whom otherwise would have more limited appeal. I dig them like crazy but clearly they are not for all Alien fans, so I'd rather they keep them as limited exclusives and make the more in demand film accurate looks as easy to get as possible.

One thing nobody seems to have mentioned is that apparently now Neca figures are $23.99 each for the Alien Covenant wave(Vas was $24.99) if you are in the Neca club. I know they've been creeping up over time but wouldn't you think buying directly from them would be less since there is no retail mark up? Throw in their high shipping and I don't see this club making it over time. Especially if the end of the year exclusive and the SDCC exclusive aren't great figures and not just the Kenner stuff.

Also, I pre-ordered the AC wave today and so now I have pre paid for 2 waves and haven't received wave 11 or even know when it is coming out.

Both passes. But look, it's OK, I'm sure more good stuff will come. We're not dealing with Hot Toys here.

Yeah more to come for sure. They got a lot of material I'm sure from this new movie. It's alittle bit of a gold mine for us an Neca . Without this new movie we would be getting beat to death with reissues and color ups. I would love a Danny McBride figure.

How cool would it be to get a McBride figure? I would buy 2 and try to make 1 a Kenny Powers custom - lol.

I love Neca because of all the mix and match options we have, I got dead space , Jason , predators , bio shock , gears of war , evil dead and of course most of the aliens stuff. So bring it on , a big dio would bring all out . Danny McBride vs Jason too funny

Prices in the UK are rocketing too. Ebay sellers are now the best place to buy from. So I'm glad for Alien Club prices now.

Prices at Forbidden Planet UK (probably UKs biggest retailer) have become silly:

Prometheus "Lost Wave". -$33.40 each.

Series 11
Kenner, and Defiance Alien - $39.82 each.
Lambert - $43.67.

Vasquez from series 9 was $41.10.

Well, that's a much better photo of the Covenant xenomorph than the one with Kenner Vasquez. Looks more distinctive now that it's face-forward and not in a super bland pose. I think those dorsal pipes need to be splayed out sideways, but that's an easy fix with hot water. Those shoulder loops are still baffling though.

That's a far more flattering picture. The articulation looks good for matching what we've seen in the trailer. Got the trailer pose down, legs wise. Wonder if the back tubes are poseable. Also highlights the subtleties of the sculpt over the body. Veining etc.

Only thing that seems weird is the head compared to the image we've seen so much from the first trailer:

Seems more square/wider in that shot.

But then in this more recent poster, it's like Neca's.

See the chin. Square, then pointed.

Must be a pain in the *** to have to sculpt ahead when they change things last minute on the movie.

I've been comparing side by side shots of this pic and the pic of the Alien trying bust through the cockpit in the movie and there are differences I noticed easily, not nitpicking or being negative but here's what I noticed. Of course the pipes on either side of the head, the tubes on the back which may be engineered like the Queen is and can be moved - maybe. The back of the foot, the shoulder caps too. Its still a nice looking figure and will be getting it.

The xeno on the photo above looks quite different (much more Big Chap-ish) to the one used in the posters (hitting the glass). I wonder how many xeno variations we will see in the movie (David's experiments, maybe?)
