You have to try magic sculpt epoxy . Air drying clay was my first stuff I did and was very hard to work with. I won't look back after using magic sculpt or fix it I think it's called is good too

Thx a lot for your reply, i think im going to test it next when i do an figure.
This new thing i make at the moment is going to be a statue ,
i fix the joints and attach the statue itself to an flat piece of wood. nothing move, nothing break. And dont underestimate the power of a lot of paint. It keeps the structure together.

By the Way

I don't care for the Kenner stuff but I know a lot of people do so I'm happy for those who are into Kenner tributes. My only concern is that now our wait for a movie Vas based on the final ops battle will take us a lot longer to get for those who are into the movie based figs. This is only the 2nd Alien Day and the trend is easy repaints of existing figures to churn out something that the fan base is split on. Why not make something special that all will enjoy? I know its just my opinion but I'm not to thrilled with this!

I do recognize that Neca did have to make some tweaks to this version of Vas but just wished it would've have been the movie version of her in the final ops battle with headset, shoulder holster & pistol, pulse rifle etc.

I think Neca deliberately chose to make figures with "niche appeal" for Alien Day, since they have limited availability. If they know a figure will have broad appeal, it makes more financial sense to make it a regular release.

I had wondered why the went to the trouble to sculpt the tank top despite the fact it wasn't visible on the figure (nor would it be visible on a theoretical ops battle variant either). Now I know. This kenner version was planned from the start.

I'll get it. I haven't gotten any Kenner preds nor kenner aliens, but the marines do hit that nostalgia level the others dont.

That's a very good point!

Agreed, Neca does think ahead to utilize/re-use everything they possibly can to justify the tooling expense. I was hoping they went to that trouble knowing at some point they'd make the final ops version and I'm sure they will, I just didn't see this coming.

I would have preferred (and I think it would have made more sense to do) a Kenner Hicks.

Would have required too much sculpting and new work. Go look at how plain that original kenner Vasquez figure is, it's obvious why they chose this one. I didn't even know Kenner made Vasquez. She's not part of the original line up, she came out way later.

For this reason, I guarentee they never touch Kenner Bishop.

No doubt a valid point - but neca makes it seem like it's really "Kenner Day" or something...

Same with their Alien Club - Really it's "Kenner club"

Seriously though if the Alien Club exclusive figure at the end of the year turns out to be a Kenner figure people will lose their ****. That absolutely 100% needs to be a figure from the movies so that it's something everyone that's been in the club appreciates and not just the Kenner fans.

So true! I will drop out of the club if its a Kenner figure for the end of the year exclusive! I wonder how much backlash Neca will get for the Kenner Vas? At least last year's Ripley came with an unreleased at the point smart gun that I think brought a lot of people in to purchase her who may not have gotten her without the smart gun. I also wonder what percent of the collector's skip on the Kenner stuff and just stick to the movie stuff. To each his own but I'm just not into the Kenner stuff, maybe that will change when I see what they do with an armored marine though.

Guys do you know where I can get a couple of Hicks helmets? Since Hudsons is a part of a weapons set

I think the only way is to scour E bay for Hicks figures on the cheap, then boil, remove and customize. If you are good at painting there might be some re-casted helmets out there you could get then paint.

I thought the helmet in the pack was a generic Frost helmet but can't see the inside the bucket to tell or not.

I'm down for whatever really.
I have seen some recasts out there, but they were Hudson/Frost helmets.

Wait a minute now, I don't want movie stuff being limited release stuff unless that's the only way that character or item can get made....

I'm not in this Alien club because I refuse to be forced to buy every single figure - I don't want to spend money on crappy bubblegum blue and pink aliens. So I definitely don't want a movie figure to be the Alien club exclusive.

I can definitely see your point on that! I'm thinking Neca may be in a tough spot with these exclusives/Alien day releases since they'll never make everybody happy. I plan on selling off the stuff I don't want like the rainbow Aliens and the Kenner stuff and probably taking a little bit of a loss on the stuff I resell just for the exclusive stuff and getting figures faster than TRU.com. I'm looking at it as a one year trial membership and I'll jump off or stay on depending on the exclusive stuff the club will have for us.
