I think the mouth looks better in this pic. I can imagine with the mouth closed it wouldn't take too much work to convert the lips and tendons

I think those guys are neat.

I had heard something along the lines of it still being in the research/image gathering phase. It is a looooooong ways away.

I am looking forward to them too. Since there are no 'likeness' requirements I think it is bound to eventually get made.

It doesn't even look right with the mouth open. The front of the dome is all wrong and the jaw itself has a very odd shape to it. Like if the tendons are going to be that stretched, that means the mouth should be wide open. Which means the lower jaw shouldn't be parallel to the upper jaw. The only time they should be parallel is when the mouth is fully closed.

If you look very closely at the above pic Lovecrafty posted, the upper lip appears to be a separate piece. (you can see the separating line right behind the last tooth) So it looks like we will probably get the translucent lips on this figure.

I bet Neca's figure will also make the Big Chap's head completely milky white where his human skulls are completely visible. In the actual movie, you can hardly see the human skull at all, I could never ever see it. Neca's Big Chap will thus be "back ground reference material" accurate and not movie accurate IMHO.

But in that picture, the mouth is only half-open. The closed-mouth I drew is more akin to Sano, Medicom, and the image in your sig.

And, thankfully, he doesn't have that curled upper lip in the picture you posted. I'd probably be happier if the figure didn't sport the horse lip.
