Chances are 'slim to none' that they will make all the marines according to Randy on twitter. They don't sell well enough.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc...

....a 'maybe' to another version of Ripley from Aliens.

Well, that's it. I'm out. :pfft:

I don't blame NECA. They can't keep making stuff that isn't selling. I do blame the people who pass on the humans. A row of nothing but Xeno's is boring as **** to me, I want the human characters to mix it up and theoretically be able to recreate the film if I were so inclined. Same with the Predator franchise.

Maybe I just live in a weird area, but what I've seen on shelves in no way supports the idea that the Marines are selling any worse than the xenos or other human characters. Combined with Randy's blatant and continual evasiveness, I have difficulty taking any of his claims at face value.

I wouldn't know how it sells one way or another, I buy everything online. Haven't been to the store in years. Also, NECA stuff isn't sold at mass retail in Ireland, only in comic shops.

Everywhere I go I see shelves with humans that are full. Xenomorph shelves are always empty.

Though ill admit im part of the problem, I only have aliens ripley and half of bishop. Ill probably get the human characters eventually but with my student budget at the moment Id rather focus on the xenomorphs.

No reason to single the rifle/incinerator Marines out for exclusion, then, particularly when they have so many shared parts between them.

Wait, what Marines aren't selling? I saw the single Hicks and Hudson figures like twice in the wild at various stores and never again. The two packs? I never saw those go on clearance. Those guys came out years ago. Bishop? Saw the regular one once. Ripped apart Bishop? Never.

Do people actually have shelves warming with Marines? I find that hard to believe. I've seen a lingering Windrix at an FYE that's never sold, but that's like the only thing.

Human characters all the time for me, there are only so many different Xenos I will buy.
I can only imagine the human shelf warmers are Windrix and the 2 Amanda Ripleys.

All the Alien(s) figures sell in my area. They NEVER sit on shelves. You either buy them the moment you see them or miss out.

True. This is the same guy who said they'd never make Newt since she would not sell well and lo and behold we are getting her along with a Kenner version of Ripley.

Idk If its necessary that its the marines themselves that tend to shelf warm in that its more the lesser known characters such as Windrix and Amanda. Both are obscure enough from the mainstream that unless you follow twitter or are an avid gamer you would not know who they were or the story behind the figure. Shame since both these ones are some of the best work Neca have done in the Aliens line IMO.

As for the rest if the marines we know we are getting Vaz and a stro g possibility of Drake with the persistent rumblings surrounding him being the other smart gunner in the newer waves. Besides those two we are getting more away from the big names so it'll be interesting to see who or what Neca reveal on Alien Day and SDCC.

Not saying that they will make all the marines from Aliens either, but the actual tweets were about the ACM game and not the movie:

tweet: "what are the chances of us getting all the colonial marines figures?"

Randy: "Slim to none"

Tweet: "why?"

Randy: "The actual marines don't sell well enough, especially ones from a game barely anyone knows"

Tweet: "what about xeno's from the game?"

Randy: "Maybe some Xeno's one day from ACM but not anytime soon"

Whether the very first tweet was really about just the ACM game or all marines in general, Randy was definitely replying in regards to the game and I think we all know that there's 0% chance at getting every single marine from the aliens universe, for a start who would want that!

So I'm guessing all the people who really only wanted the movie characters anyway, shouldn't be bothered about these tweets, as there's no new info we didn't already know.

As far as it stands there's still a chance we could eventually get most if not all of the cast from Aliens. Granted a pretty darn small chance but better than "Slim to none"

I think you are right. It seems that the characters outside of the movies are less of a chance being made but the ones that feature in the movies themselves stand a greater chance being made so. If a certain Alien design catches Randy and Co's eye from Colonial Marines or even Isolation I'm thinking they could be made into a figure in the line.

As much as I would like 'proper' marines of all characters (and in all scales), If we get Drake and Vaz I will be a happy camper. Everyone else can be custom built to a decent level of accuracy once we have Drake and Vaz.

In any case, tweaking my displays after a basement overhaul. Still a WIP...ignore the broken and half finished things...:lol

I wonder when they will squeeze in the Lambert figure for a release, can't imagine there will be much more planned from Alien, it will be interesting how they do it.

I was thinking about that the other day too. Not about lambert specifically, but about squeezing in more humans. The available human characters outnumber the creature characters as a whole by, what, 6 to 1 through the 3 core films?

They have already turned 4 creature designs ('79, 'warrior', queen, 'dog') into 16 figures!!! How many variations can possibly be left?! At some point they need to get serious about humans and embrace them. Yet they claim humans don't sell and they will never make an all-human wave again.

I guess the next step for them instead is embracing the Kenner tributes. I reckon I should be happy that they gave us what they did before going full kenner.

The only way they can do it is now sprinkle them out in between the other Aliens in the wave. I cannot see them doing a completely human wave without an Alien or two in there, nor can I see them doing a completely Alien only wave with no humans. Its one or the other now.

Another way they could get the more niche characters like Gorman or Burke out there is to maybe pack them in with something more desirable like a sentry gun unit or a WY logo item like a storage unit crate that houses weapons or so on.

I would love it if they did another Bishop though since I think their first attempt was truthfully not the best.

Lambert I could see them either making a store exclusive or put her with a wave that will include another Nostromo crew member like Brett or even a plain clothed Dallas. I am not sure about them doing an Ash though

Damn that is a sweet set up ! Seeing those HT Alien figures though makes me hope more and more we get an announcement of them revising and putting out new versions for Alien Day, or at least say they are planning to do more outside of the Alien and Aliens Ripley with the Loader and the Warrior.
