NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

I wonder when they will squeeze in the Lambert figure for a release, can't imagine there will be much more planned from Alien, it will be interesting how they do it.

Neca could put her in a mixed-movie wave of Alien figures. They did it with Series 2 when they had Big Chap and Aliens figures together. It sounds like as long as they can put a xenomorph in the line, the other figures could be from any other Alien movie. They haven't done a Resurrection alien (which would be easy, since all they would have to do is stick new legs and some brown paint on the AvP warrior) or redone their AvPR alien yet, so that's two potential waves that human figures could be part of.

I am intrigued though at what Aliens they will choose for their Kenner inspired wave. A Neca sculpted Gorilla and Viper Alien sounds good to me.

Chances are 'slim to none' that they will make all the marines according to Randy on twitter. They don't sell well enough.

I never thought we'd get all the Marines from Aliens but If they make Drake & Frost to go along with Vas I could call it a day and be happy. I do hope they go further into the line though but never thought we'd get them all. I will be getting my custom Apone from the Reverand soon and I've already made a Crowe so I've got quite a few Marines but the more the better.

I also agree that the movie specific waves will probably switch over to a combined films wave soon.

We are only 11 days away from 426 day and I cannot wait to see what surprises they deliver us.

Oh and as far as the human peg warmers collecting dust at my TRU I've only seen Amanda Ripley's and the queen attack Bishop just sitting around for any period of time - that is when they actually do stock the Neca figures! The Marines don't last long from my experience.

So I just got Hicks and Hudson and the legs are totally messed up. Below the knee, they curve inwards. I'm thinking of dunking them in hot water, straightening them, and then dunking them in ice water, but wanted to get any of your thoughts on what you have done.

As much as I would like 'proper' marines of all characters (and in all scales), If we get Drake and Vaz I will be a happy camper. Everyone else can be custom built to a decent level of accuracy once we have Drake and Vaz.

In any case, tweaking my displays after a basement overhaul. Still a WIP...ignore the broken and half finished things...

I read from Neca that her gun is a modified smart gun but I'm not exactly sure what that means. Looks like around the middle of the gun you can see what looks like a handle. Maybe the modification was so she could hold the gun like she did the flamethrower on the original? Can't wait to buy this and see Vas & Newt and all the rest.

I find it kinda funny that concurrent with the figures I always wanted they're also remaking the ones I had to accept as inferior substitutes 20 years ago.

Yes but did you really think they were inferior at the time? I remember the 1st time I saw them thinking how awesome and how cool they were - my how toys and expectations have changed since those original Kenner figures were released. I'd say I'm just excited about what neca is doing now as I was back then but I'm a lot older now.

I was fired up by Hicks, Drake and the scorpion & gorilla aliens.
I let my little brother buy Ripley, bishop, Apone and the 'bull' alien...

Back then I certainly didn't have the same expectations I have now, but even then to an 11 year old me, it was a mixed bag AND I repainted Hicks' armor and Apone's shirt.

Oh, and the AvP two pack was sweet too. Even now I still like them. That is the only NECA 'tribute' item I purchased because i have such good memories of the original.

Fair enough, I did get enthused about them. I saw the ads and I wanted the stuff. But my favourites were always the ones that were closest to the movie - Scorpion Alien, Drake (well, his smartgun anyway) and the Alien/Predator 2pack.

Yup, great piece of illustrated art work. Everytime I think of it I think of T2's marketing campaign from 1991 and that awesome teaser trailer.

Indeed. Really captured the imagination. It can never be repeated unfortunately. Terminator is done.

Having said that, we relive it through the toys we're getting now. If NECA do Kenner Terminator stuff I hope the packaging uses that same image. That alone would make them tempting I have to say.

I still have a lot of the old Kenner Aliens, mostly the human figures, always wanted Hudson and Vasquez but never managed to get hold of them. I've kept the figures for sentimental reasons, like a previous poster said, Hicks and Drake were the best, I even have an O' Malley somewhere, I can't remember being disappointed with them but expectations were far lower back then, what NECA is achieving now is amazing, long may it continue.
