Just got this today, but I'm saving opening it for tomorrow I don't really have any complaints other than the netting on the pred isn't very good, but the alien looks perfect (foggy dome and all). I'll take more pictures tomorrow.

Also... The box will probably be larger than you expect. It's quite huge actually.

Yeah, found 'em yesterday myself. One TRU had 5, and another had 12 of 'em. If you can, be patient and wait till they get them in-store. That way you can compare and contrast the paint and plastic quality in person instead of gambling on getting a good one through online ordering.

Some I saw were very good, and others were absolutely not good at all. Usually once they get them in, the TRU exclusives are pretty plentiful. I still see tons of Bioshock mask boxes, Ghostbusters box sets and Battlestar Galactica TRU exclusives still, so I'm sure most TRU's will get these in, and in a decent quantity.

The Alien is very nice, has the foggy dome, and none of the gloss coating that the original release had. The silver paint seems to be a bit different though, it seems very.... textured almost, but it looks good. If you missed out on the original release, you owe it to yourself to get this one.

The Pred looks good too. Same body as the Classics, but with a new head and the bone trophies. The face seems to have less gloss than the open mouth version, and the armor is much more grey than green (on mine at least).

And it is hard to tell, but the head is a new sculpt, the upper part is very slightly resculpted on the brows (it's hard to see, but it's there), and the lower mouth where the mandibles attach is a new sculpt as well. Again, it looks almost identical, but it is a new piece, you can tell by looking at the bottom part where the jaw connects, the open mouth version's has a bit of extra plastic on either side of the lower bottom part of the "chin" to accommodate the spread mandibles.

At $24.99, there is no reason not to get at least one. These are the best figures of these characters to ever be made, and at $12.50 each (with bonus skulls!) these are a steal.

Even if you want the just the Alien, or just the Predator, both individual carded releases go for $30+ nowadays, so you might as well pay less for 2 figures.

I hope when the P2 figures come out we get a City Hunter/Warrior Alien 2-pack!

Plus it would be a good way to release a closed mouth City Hunter and leave a slot open in the regular waves for another figure; like a lost Pred or battle-damaged City hunter. (with needle-stabbing screaming head!)

Also, when you guys inspect your figures, be sure to look out for messy glue apps. Alot of the ones I saw had clumps of glue in the Alien's ribs, or some of it smeared and caked around the base of the dorsal tubes.

Alot of the Warrior Aliens had this problem too, as well as the heads of the open mouth Classic Preds. It may be removeable with some goo gone and scrubbing, but I wouldn't risk it if you can find a better one.

Drybrush black paint over it, and problem solved.

I'm really hoping for all of the lost Preds, that aside from the Spears, discs, ect., each one comes with a different trophy skull with a hole at the base. It would be so awesome to get all of the smaller sized ones!

And maybe for the 2 pack we could get an empty slab of trophy wall with spikes jutting out to mount the skulls onto. The 2-pack's trophy skulls have gotten me hooked on getting a set-up like this, I'm buying those dinosaur bone kits at TRU for the skulls to weather into Pred trophies.

The PC I'm using doesn't have a browser bar, so I can't copy and paste it, (Yes, I'm talking about toys on my work's time ) but go to the TRU website and type in "Dinosaur Dig Kit" and they show up. They look like they are out of stock right now though. When I get home tonight I'll post the link for ya.

Any discovery, science or "nature" toy stores usually carry something like them though. I'm looking for a Sabretooth tiger one right now...

They can be found at any online site containing dinosaur toys.

Unless you just use their skulls they're gonna be pretty useless, though.

i feel bad, i work at TRU and i got one stashed up in the rafters. they literally put out a whoole case of the 2 packs yesterday and i kept eyeing this set the whole time. i went back in today and there was literally none left. glad i at least stashed one so when i go back on sunday i can pick it up hopefully. it looks so awsome and i would have posted plenty of pics if i had the cash but nope, gotta wait to get the Christmas cash!

I'm getting two as well. I plan to open both. As far as I'm concerned you can never have too many aliens and I plan to swap the open mouth head of my extra Classic Predator onto the 2-pack version and I will automatically have both a closed mouth and open mouth version of the Predator from the first movie.
