Something will go wrong. Hopefully not...but NECA aint a perfect company.

What could go wrong?

Besides the Predalien static pose and the continued use of the same Wolf sculpt...their AvP:R Alien and Giger's Alien are great figs.

i don't think anything is wrong with their sculpts for the most part. i've been way more impressed with their work than HT's so far.
they do have the same problem as McFarlane in that their figures tend to break at the joints.
i just got their 9" Giger alien and i spent an hour sticking it in hot water and taking it apart joint by joint just so it could be posed.
and after i got it all put it back together, the arm still snapped off. it's an easy fix with glue, but i can't really complain about a $12 figure.
same thing happened with a couple of my AvP-R figures, too. goes with the territory.

I love NECA's visual quality for what their product costs, but they have some annoying QC issues.

I'm on my 3rd 8" Giger Alien from them, finally found one that didn't need heat or anything to move the joints, but the first 2 both had almost glued joints, wouldn't pose at all and the packaging pose is terrible.

I've also gone through 2 DMC Jack Sparrows, one I posed an arm just a hair too much and snapped, but the second recently was found snapped off just from having a few other figures piled on it in a box for storage. In addition, the hand broke off my first RZ Michael Myers just from spinning it like it's supposed to.

Granted, they're low cost figures, but I've never had such issues with even lower cost Hasbro toys, so it's a bit frustrating and confusing why a slightly higher end figure suffers from these issues. I've also never had a problem with a McFarlane figure.

Yeah, I'm also hoping NECA will resolve their QC issues.
As for the cost factor vs. durability compared to the likes of Hasbro... I think it's difficult to compare. Hasbro must make gazillions of figures, so their costs must be much lower in the long run, whereas NECA probably makes far fewer figures in general, so they can't get as good a deal with the factories that produce their figures. I'm speculating, but it makes sense to me.

yep. i had to peel apart some of the joints that were painted together. lots of my McFarlane figs had that issue, too.

i'd actually prefer that NECA sell their figures as pre-painted "kits" that you just snap together. i always have to take them apart out of the package, anyway.
it would drop their packaging and QA costs quite a bit and would eliminate problems with stuck joints and warping from getting crammed into packaging.

there are lots of Asian figure makers who sell figures as kits and it's extremely successful.

I love Neca's stuff but they've been a disappointing lately. One this is the repaint of wolf with blood. Same sculpt, messier paint job. All my Wolf Preds and my Predalien has a problem with standing. My last Predalien took a nice shelfdive and broke both arms and the head popped off. I want a new Wolf with better articulation. I'm sure an extra few ball joints won't kill them.

What annoys me is the fact that they didn't include bases or stands with the Wolf Predators to go with the rest of the AVP-R line. I hate seeing figures without a stand or a base - they look incomplete.

I always had a problem with my Wolf standing up too, until one day I found out he has extra articulation on his thigh pads:lol All of my Wolf's are now steady as a rock

Didn't help me much. I knew about that. Found ways to pose him. Gave him 2 bases one for each feet. He still tends to move around the leg and fall over.

consider it thrown, oh yeah, I finally got to watch the first Alien yesterday. Pretty good film, even though it was so obvious the alien was a guy in a suit and wasn't as dynamic as the ones in the recent AvP movies. A3 will be watched tommorrow

I would be banned for my reply. :monkey1

This fgure looks awesome . :rock

Typical CP post.

But...NECA aint perfect. Lazy quip all you want, NECA makes some crappy ass products. See Stuntman Mike and BeetleJuice for more info. I really...really wanted Mike...but my god, its horrible.

Oh yes, sometimes they make something nice, but that happens once in a while.

I kinda agree with CP. they did kind of screw up with the ALIEN figure. They made the dome way too damn clear. I had to fix that, and granted it was an easy fix, it was something they could have done easily.
