^I don't like how NECA sculpts clothes either. Another reason I'm concerned about how Robin will turn out. And yeah, that's a really good point about keeping Robin and Batman in scale. If NECA F's that up, they won't compliment each other well regardless of how the sculpt quality turns out.
As for visible joints, I can't stand them at all. The only figure that I own with really visible joints (that don't bother me) is NECA's 1/4 Gollum/Smeagol. But that's because he's almost completely naked only costs ~$50 and I keep them displayed separately from my "high-end" figures. I guess that's the only reason why I can tolerate him, although NECA does deserve credit as his joints are well designed, and his face sculpt is pretty damn awesome.
As for visible joints on my higher-end figures, I just have to hide them from view as best I can. Yeah, they are action figures, but at the price we pay for them, I don't want to be constantly reminded that they are just action figures. This is why I will never buy the EB Rambo and why I will never display my EB Bruce Lee with just his tank-top on. I actually display him in a neutral pose, with hands behind his back to hide his wrist joints. I wish I didn't care so much about joints, since I'd have less limitations on display options. But for some reason, visible joints just automatically make me think "toy" and not "collectible."
