Neca Part 4 Friday the 13th sneak peak

I've been keeping an eye out myself. I'm tempted to get them at BBTS but when it comes to NECA stuff, I like to pick and choose my figures whenever possible.

^ Yeah, I would definitely try and get get these in person. I've seen a few on Ebay that have dented masks and look pretty bad.

Saw em at my comic shop. The masks are terrible across the board. They dropped the ball.

Now here's something to think about. When NECA started shipping out ED2 series 2, I noticed that a lot of guys on ebay that had them in hand had really bad looking ones. Like really bad paint apps, googly eyes and shirts that were really off set and really short looking. When I saw series 2 at my local TRU, they were miles away from what I saw on ebay. Maybe the first few cases that ship out aren't the best?

If you find one with a decent looking mask (like this guy did) this is easily the best looking Jason figure in 7 inch form.

Still nothing at my local TRU. It seems I'll have to wait like I did for ED2 Hero Ash since I'll have to observe not only paint apps now, but masks too lol.

I was really looking forward to these figures. The prototypes that NECA had shown were amazing(of course they're going to be) I just checked that review and the figures look great with exception to that mask. it's incredibly misshapen and the eye holes are really off. for me it totally destroys any chance of me getting these...or maybe I could just grab one and sculpt a replacement mask.

I think they made a mistake when they used their soft plastic for the masks. If anything, the straps should've been soft plastic and the mask should've been a more solid plastic to hold a good mold. Also, I think the best touch up would be to make the eye holes slightly larger. Assuming you found a good mask sculpt..

I'm hoping maybe the hockey mask can be reshaped a little with hot water if they're really mis-shapened. I agree though, the eyes holes on the hock could stand to be a little larger. I'm sure someone who is handy with a dremel could fix the eye holes.

Still nothing at my local TRU. Employee says they got a truck last night. Not one new item on the shelves however. Although I did notice a lot of empty shelf space that may have been made to put up more items. I think he just didn't want to stop what he was doing and go into the back to check. He told me the next truck would be Saturday. Ugh, more waiting I suppose.

If these are anything like Evil Dead Series 2, TRU probably won't get any until mid Sept. Evil Dead series 2 finally showed up at my store a week ago, and they had a release date of July....

Yea true. My local TRU didn't get ED2 series 2 until the end of the second week of August. Although, they had series 1 two days after NECA had posted they were shipping on their blog. Very strange. I go into work late today, so I'm going to take a ride to the Yonkers store and see if they got any.
