I can't wait to see Kyle's City Hunter after seeing these pics. Hope he makes its mask mean as hell. And he is the first in my opinion to nail the P1 helmet.

Nice proportions on the P1 body. Really hoping to see this in 1/6th scale. With proper paint apps this might overall look better than HT P1. Hope the articulation wont spoil it...

I was just comparing the NECA and Hot Toys sculpts side by side and thought I might as well post these here also:

This is kinda making me think of a possible Hot Toys Predator1 DX all over again...

At last a P1 head that is the correct shape.
I wish Neca started making 20" figures again, like they did with the LOTR. A Predator that size would be amazing

That predator looks bad ass and if they could move up the scale and keep it affordable which I'm sure they could I'd be buying there stuff.
When will Neca realise 1/6 is where its at.

That headsculpt makes the Hot Toys version look like a toy! I think I liked the closed mandibles look the best though; it just looks mean as hell.

Didn't they use multiple Pred suits for the first movie, though? If so, there will always be little differences that are inconsistent.

Remember were looking at proto vs finished product though , I'll be buying this figure if it comes out looking that good.

3 screen shots. I adjusted the lighting so you can see better:
**NOTE: The "biker glove" on the left hand actually goes higher up the wrist than the right glove.

Especially on the last two shots you can see where the right handed glove ends. The bottom part of the glove ends around the palm, but it definitely does not go over the wrist on either the top or bottom.

i am sorry but they show the thing that i know:
the right glove exists almost only on the outer side of the hand.
you surely also know that it leaves the inside totally opened.
but then it continues under the metal gauntlet.
you can easily see it if this time you ajust brigntness on my screenshot on the previous page which show the hand from needed side.
actually it is perfectly seen on these, too - if you know what to look for.
well, i'll better explore photos from additional materials one day to find some behind-the-scene photo and see it at last in details.

Not sure what you're seeing.

But the red part I colored IS the right hand glove. It doesn't go up the gauntlet. I think you're confusing the coloring of the arm with the glove and assuming it's one single piece.

Devil , I think he means the glove carries on down underneath the wrist and not on the side shown on your photo.

I think in hand the Hot Toys P1 looks better than the figure in those Hot Toys pics, but it has the same thing that bugs me about the Cinemaquette, the shape of the head is too much like Predator 2 than a P1. So far Neca's is spot on.
The closed mandibles look is straight out of the movie scene after Dutch punches him

after magnification and brightening i see you are right.

whatever it is - a darker "skin", or just black suit's parts like robocop suit's armpits - it is really not a long glove because the border is seen.

yeah i did, but the brighter it is, the better we see there is no prolonged glove-leather.

but if tankman resculpted the old pred - right gauntlet bladebox from P2, bare feet and no fabric below the belt... he would just make it even more movie-perfect than it is now.

1. Is this a statue or an articulated joints figure. Am guessing statue cause I cant see no joints. If it is then of course its going to look better than the Hot Toys predator...DUHHHH. Theres no limits in detail when your making a statue whereas figures with joints need to be detailed enough but also need to move. Stop comparing it to the Hot Toys Predator. Compare it to any other Predator PF statue...jesus...

2. The thread title says "NECA: New Predator movie....". Am sorry but that means this statue is from the new Predator movie then ? Or not ? If so then you can't compare it to any other Predator figure or statue as its for the NEW Predator movie and that means new designs !!! So stop talking about gloves and belts being there or not being there. If its from the new movie then you really shouldn't know if a glove shud be worn or if a piece of cloth shud cover his weener !!!

These look great, but it's all about the production piece. Tankman is a brilliant sculptor, and at this scale, and with the prototype paint apps, they look BRILLIANT. Unfortunately, with every NECA figure, the production figures always look significantly worse than their prototypes. For a $10 dollar figure it isn't really a huge issue, but still... So much is lost when you downsize them to 7 inches, and paint them in mass production.

Here's to hoping that quality control will be upped for this figure!!

It is essentially a statue with limited articulation. the head rotates, the arm go up and down, the wrists rotate - there is a post earlier indicating the articulation.

2. The thread title says "NECA: New Predator movie....". Am sorry but that means this statue is from the new Predator movie then ? Or not ? If so then you can't compare it to any other Predator figure or statue as its for the NEW Predator movie and that means new designs !!!

Both these predators are from P1 and P2. No pics of the new predators have been shown yet.

1. Neca figures have joints and articulation but usually nowhere near as much as hot toys figures.

2. As far as I'm aware this is from the original predator , its been put in this thread because its related. Your right really , it should probably have its own thread and it probably has somewhere.
