Question: Will this Pred actually have netting(like the Hot Toys ones) or will it just be painted on?

It states on the picture that it WILL have real netting.

Its a completely different scale though. I wouldn't consider a 1/4 scale figure as replacing a 1/6th - at least not in my collection which is, with exception of an 18" Robocop and endoskeleton, all 1/6th and 7".

Still, if you want three huge badass predators, it'll be cheaper than buying the HT loadout. They may look visually more impressive too, due to their size.

The only potential 'gotcha' here is going to be the paintjob, repainting could be tricky with that netting!

Still very cool. Now if NECA will release another 10 Preds in decent scale, HT will be in trouble....

I'm excited, but at the same time, annoyed. I hate things like this. I really do. I'll buy one, because it'll be amazing, but it's just quite annoying i'll have to buy 2 in order to get a look I like. Meh for that. Yey for the 18 inch Predator.

I couldn't have 3 almost identical 1/4scale figures. I'm hesitant to even have 1 as I prefer scales where you can have multiple compatible characters and maybe even dioramas and the ability to recreate scenes which you just can't at 18".

However...the masked and the closed mouth are tempting...

Went ahead and preordered all 3 as well. For those upset that you have to buy multiple figures to get a different head, unfortunately it's just that the cost of tooling and manufacturing a figure this massive and complex is so high, NECA has to recoup the money invested by selling as many of these as they can.

And as far as the price tag goes, I'm amazed they were able to go as low as $80. Look at that picture, if you own the standard Classic Pred you know how big that 8" tall bad boy is. He barely reaches the top of this guy's shin armor. This thing is gonna be massive. Like almost 2 feet tall. Like, if it fell over it could crush a small animal. I hope this figure sells so well NECA takes notice and risks making an 18" Warrior Alien, 8" scale Queen and other larger figures they may have been reluctant to make due to cost and other concerns.

This puppy really is a big deal, I am shocked he has even been announced in this day of high costs of toy prodcution and the like. NECA has really given us a great gift here, and I intend to enjoy it all. This figure is a freaking work of art, and if it even looks half as good as the prototype I'm gonna be happy.
