If what we saw in those supposed factory samples is what we'll end up getting, then I'm happy. A bit of slop with the brown spots on the forehead, but seriously -- this thing rocks.

you don't get it. it's not like NECA has always made beautiful packaging and suddenly slipped on this one. NECA always has and always will make stupid boxes that look like they're made by NECA. they have no interest in catering to high-end collectors by pissing away half their revenue in package design. if NECA had never released pics of the stupid box, we could be here discussing actual figures in a figure collecting forum.

I still don't understand why you're so upset about this... :dunno
If people want to discuss the packaging, why shouldn't they? It is a part of the product. And it's not like there's a lot of news regarding the figure itself to discuss anyway.

But whatever.

What I really can't wait for, is the inevitable custom paintjobs by folks like Joe Dunaway, true masters of the craft... making an exemplary sculpt a real work of art. Bring it on already!

Yeah people have remember there's collectors out there that are not going to open these bad boys and see that package everyday. So its only fair to them to have there opinions.Im not one of those as soon as i get anything cool its going to be opened.

It just seems a little ridiculous to say the box is "shameful", etc..
It's a freaken box, from a company who mostly sells $15 figures, and a decent looking box at the least..

But, moving on...

Yeah in most cases I care about boxes and box art, but for this guy as awesome as he is, the box will most likely end up in the garbage. Just depends on how sturdy it feels once the figure is taken out. If it feels like its going to fall apart without support then it'll get pitched.

On there smaller figures I actually have a small scrap book that I keep certain aspects of graphics and art for reference. Just one of those nerdy things I do. I dont keep the whole card, but might cut off the main photo or logo of a various toy if I think it looks sharp. Otherwise blister packs get the boot.

That sounds a good idea. Wish I'd thought of that sooner.

Looks like we're getting a Super Predator skull with one of the upcoming figs.

From a workbench at NECA (look at the foot of the Elder Pred)...

Ha, look to the right of the Assasins creed or whatever dude's head..

It's not your average STEALTHED Mr. Black, it's the special Camo-Stealth version with the background diorama thingy.
