except that 1) it isn't a high-end collectible and 2) most of us are ordering online and all of the info on the stupid box is on the internet before we ever saw the stupid box. it doesn't matter. at all. it's just cardboard. NECA is not gonna throw away money on stupid box design for a customer base that will probably throw the stupid box out anyway. the stupid box design is a petty trifling non-issue that will have zero effect on sales or the figure itself. and i wish NECA never would've released pics of it now.

Seems you're getting angry for no reason dude... :dunno

Most people who buy HT also buy online. It's just a matter of presenting the figures better. As I said, I don't care either way, but I do believe it would've helped NECA's cause to make this a "higher" end figure than their regular figures (vis a vis the price) if it had a better/nicer packaging.
I'm sure any customer would look at the figure differently if it was in a packaging as elaborate and well-designed as most of HT's packaging is. And the perception of what you're getting for the price you're paying would also be different (of course, that would make it also more expensive, but it's just an example... simply making the graphics better would suffice to make it look better).
That's all.

I don't think anyone's really upset or angry because of the packaging.
I know I'm not.

When you buy from NECA, you know what you are going to get for the price. Personally I really like the graphics and colours used on the 1/4 box. It will end up in the recycle bin tho:wave

The same when you buy a high end figure from Hot Toys. For the price you expect a nice box etc.

you don't get it. it's not like NECA has always made beautiful packaging and suddenly slipped on this one. NECA always has and always will make stupid boxes that look like they're made by NECA. they have no interest in catering to high-end collectors by pissing away half their revenue in package design. if NECA had never released pics of the stupid box, we could be here discussing actual figures in a figure collecting forum.

I don't follow NECA toylines so I wasn't aware they had an infamous reputation for always having bad packaging design. I'm disappointed that NECA is ok without having pride in their products.

it's just a stupid box. you're the only one who cares. just drop it.
Was it ever mentioned why NECA couldn't make the netting right? Was it something to do with the factory?
i don't think NECA ever gave an explanation for the netting. it's what we're getting and it's just too bad if we don't like it.

NECA's packaging looks great on the pegs in the shops. It does the job. It's what's inside that's had the problems. Hopefully the Predator in this big box turns out well. That's all I want from this.

Netting is fine, box is just a box, my opinion, not arguing. I'm more curious as to the paint apps from this new factory. Will we get a repeat of the Predators 7inch line, or something that would make Steve Wang proud?

I don't think it'll be a high-end paintjob, there'll be some mess, hopefully far less than the 8" figs though. I'd also worry about things like paint on one piece not matching the piece next to it. My 22" Alien has this issue - shade differentials between the thigh and everything below.

Too true, I guess we'll have to wait and see. If anything bothers me too much, well I guess I can touch it up. Hell, even if it doesn't bother me it might be fun to try. Still a cool figure with a great price tag.
