Wow, from that last pic of Masked P2, his Bio paint looks great.

got the unmasked city hunter, to play around with till i get the masked one, the sculpt is great ( thanks tankman), the poseability is great, all the joints are great, but the mismatched colors and tints on the body suck imo. the head paint looks alright to me,the armor paint is very good, but the body needs a repaint bad.and i don't like the cheap rubber strings they used on the crotch and butt armor and on the one bag, they will be very easy to break, and over time they wil dry rott and break for sure.

I think With a really cool base with real branches behind him this will end up being really cool actually, I still hate the two pack but, when life gives you lemons....

just noticed something about the masked city hunters left spear holding hand from the pictures posted on here , looks like neca cheaped out and used the p1 gort hand for the extra hand in the 2 pack.

And no, the figure actually painted the joints to match the rest of the skin. It even has the netting sculpted into it.

Not on the Hip-Ball joints.
There are all black.
On City Hunter, boar and Shaman.

i just have to reply to this old posts. these were tankman's replies to CelticPred:

You want to talk about awful. Take a look at the McFarlane Alien figure you love so much. Did an orange spray can explode next to it with all the gross orange dots everywhere. The NECA P2 kills the Mcturd figure in every way. It's sad McFarlane even called that stick man figure Predator2 in the first place. You can at least see ours is P2 and has the best most accurate sculpt by a long shot to back it up in my humble opinion. I was looking at the McFarlane one the other day laughing how bad it is paint and sculpt. Some fans just can't can't let Todd go. I'll admit the crown could be better but no way is it awful. Still looks better than Mc clowns awful P2. If you hate the head so much just wait and get the masked P2. It rules.

You're full of it kid. I saw you're so called paint fix on the Wolf. I'd like to see what you can do on P2. Glad you like the 18inch figure and you took some amazing pix of it. Maybe you can ask the guy that did the great job on our P2 just how to fix it so you'll be happy with it. For a 17 dollar figure it's a very very nice figure and stomps your boy McFarlane P2 in the ground. You put McFarlane's P2 next to the NECA and you'll laugh that McFarlane even called his Predator 2. That figure is without a doubt one of the worst they ever did and all the guys that sculpted on it don't work for us anymore. They couldn't cut it and the McFarlane P2 shows why.

tankman, if you're indeed kyle windrix, then first of all i have to say i'm big fan of your work. always have. everytime i pick up my neca figs, i always look at the backcard just to see if it has your name there. and i have more sculpts in my house that bear your name than any other sculptor.

that said, everytime i read your comments in this forum, i cant help but wish you would just... not talk too much. everytime you got defensive you always sound like a big jerk! always taking the chance to diss mcf, always making piss poor excuses for piss poor paint, always attacking the critics instead of listening.

why not shut up and take the criticism to heart? honestly.

i have all of neca's preds past and present with many more coming. yes all the sculpts are beautiful, absolutely first rate! it's even mind boggling that such detailed artistry can be rendered in 7" plastic. BUT... the paint app DO suck on most of them. and neca's insistence to mold the plastic in color instead painting over it also doesnt help. and as anyone knows: great sculpts + sucky paint = mediocre final product.

of course, i hear the excuses, china sucks... factory sucks... it's good enough for a $15 toy... yadda yadda bullsh#t... are you then saying your sculpt is just worth $15??? f@ck no! it may be a $15 pred, but the sculpt is worth much more. so, if it's possible for the sculpt to be rendered with such details and accuracy to look good enough for a $100 fig, why ruin it with a $2 paint app??

dont blame the factory. you can always switch to another factory, you can always supervise it better, you can always raise the unit price. nobody's saying that a pred have to cost the same as a mogwai. even ht price varies from fig to fig. i've seen SDCC photos of the 2up of the new preds. they are GORGEOUSLY PANTED! if you charge people $20-30 for a 7" painted like that, i have no doubt people would still find it hard to resist. i know i would buy them all in a hardbeat

While this post is a bit blunt, I have to agree with a lot of its points, particularly the one in bold. It just boggles my mind how a factory can have so much more control over the way a product will turn out than the actual company that owns/uses it. Or rather, that the company can't do anything about it. I'm just not sure if I buy that, but then again I'm not in the toy business, so what do I know...

The sad thing is posts like this are arguably reasonable, yet they simply preach to the choir. It's doubtful things will change, which is why I've moved on -- unless, of course, NECA decides to put out more 1/4-scale Predators. They know those suckers sell like hotcakes.

Wife surprised me with the set of 3. As happy as I am that these got made the paint apps are terrible. The worst part is the netting. It's like looking at a blurry image. The paint doesn't line-up with sculpted netting.
