My friend who had the time to display him has him tied off to two walls to keep him from tipping, but since he broke out the fishing line, he also created a cool arc for the whip! I still have him boxed for now, and I just haven't the space until I get rid of a few more things!

I hope I don't read a story in the paper about "Collector crushed by oversized toy", it would be bad for Neca's image!

Gorilla Glue works good.

If you are going to put him on a shelf, I recommend coming up with some sort of wood base that you can twisty tie his feet to. Better yet, twisty tie him to the wall behind him.

I've been considering bringing him into work and putting him on a large bookcase above and behind me. Only problem is, I have visions of him falling off and killing me at my desk. Now there's a great image to be plastered across the web - "Captain Toy killed by one of his own!" I can just imagine my co-workers with their camera phones having a good time before dialing 911.

just how do you tie his feet to a base or tie him to the wall?

you better consider it carefully! i never recommend placing him above where one's working or sleeping! it will seriously hurt then it hit you!

i did think before mine dropped from the table top to put him at a shelf above where my head rests on the bed. after that... i just shudder to think what will happen if it fell on me while sleeping! don't do anthing stupid! haha i do not want to read a news headline which says balrog injures man while sleeping.

If I were going to put him up on a shelf, I'd create a thin wood base, perhaps 1/2" pine, and paint it black. I'd attach his feet to the base by wrapping twisties (or other wire) around his legs several times, then run that wire through the base and tie it off on the other side. Then, put the base up on the shelf and screw it down to the shelf as well. I'm assuming the shelf itself isn't going anywhere in this scenario.

The other good way is to again use thin wire and put two eyelets into the wall behind him. Wrap the wire around his wings and/or chest, and tie it to the two eyelets. That should keep him up there - it keeps Christmas tries straight!

I had just assembled my Balrog few days ago and broke the small plastic tabs on one of the wings' joint. The first wing I managed to twist it correctly. The second one somehow ended up with the tabs breaking off.

I realised that when they said flush in the instructions, it's not as if it is totally flush. I can see see a fair amount of gap? Well at least I made it further and I didn't break the tabs off while inserting the joint into the back like my friend did with his 2 wings :D

SO.... I now have 2 wings which is not secured to the body. It may tend to drop out while tilting the figure or will just twist itself downwards upside down due to its weight. I think I'll have to use some glue to secure it permanently. Do you guys know if there are specific types I should use or I can just use Superglue?

And since I believe once you twist the wings in, you aren't supposed to remove it without probably breaking the tabs. There is no use for the box since you will not need to repack this monster into the box anymore. So one good thing is that you have one less big box taking up space at home!

My tabs twisted right off too when I tried to remove the wings. The posts are so long though that I'm not worried about them dropping off.

Thought some of you guys might be interested in this...

I was driving to Dallas this weekend and stumbled across the Action Figure Museum located in Southern Oklahoma of all places. Anyway a really fun place and they had this prototype of the Balrog. It turns out that the sculptor (who has also done a ton of other ****) is a local and donated it along with a bunch of other cool stuff.

OMG the elusive Grey Balrog. I wonder what that's worth? :rotfl

PS. Nice find, thanks for sharing! You wouldn't happen to know the sculptors name would you?

EDIT: Never mind, I clicked the link and found it.

Your post was fun to read... questions and answers all in one shot :lol

But like you said, the Grey ones are always the rarest :rotfl

Guys, I need help....my wings cannot even fit into the slot of the body... are there any special techniques to do so?? I am not sure if my piece is "faulty' so that it cannot fit in...

Hey Aaron, why didn't you ask me about it. Since i did post a detailed instruction on assembling this on TORCS.

It can fit, you just have to use more strength in pushing it in. It doesn't fit in loosely that's why. And before you continue do read my tips on balrog unless you want to risk breaking the tabs. ;)
