Anyone else thinkg Hot Toys is skimping on the quality of the Newer figures. To many people having problems with the Wolf for it to be "bad builders"

As for a fix you need to ad some type of pin or to give the broken joint support. Like when you break your arm they add pins to hold the bones together while they heal but in this case no healing.

i dont think you took your time builing this because breaking a hip off a predator is pretty hard. plasmacaster is another thing..

First of all, I wasn't the only one to give you a reply that wasn't exactly helpful.

Secondly, everything else you have put together - none of that applies to a Hot Toys Predator. These things are fragile as Hell, and they need 'special' attention when building. I don't know how you broke the hip joint, but I'm just going to guess you were trying to put the lower leg in, and using a lot of unnecessary force - in that case, you should have used hot water, or a blow dryer and heated the plastic up, just to help it pop together easier.

As far as whatever you have now done to it... if the plastic has been 'melted' - I think you're ^^^^ed. It might be fixable, but I think your best bet is to find a loose body on Ebay now.

Oh, and I apologize for my first response to you as well, it's just my natural reaction when someone says, "time to place this piece of crap in the garbage."

You also have to understand when I posted it's a piece of crap, was mere moments after I broke the thing. I was frustrated thus you can understand, excuse me, SHOULD have understood my frustration. Besides, people take things way too personally on here. Did you engineer this toy? Either way, it sucks. As for the melting... I think I am okay.

The best thing I should have done was ask for assistance before trying to apply more pressure on the leg. The left leg went well.. and no I didn't force it that hard. It just broke off.. I am an artist. I have great control and patience... unfortunately for me, not good enough patience and control...

Would drilling a hole with a small screw driver into each end of the joint piece, then inserting a thin metal piece inside, and applying glue... would that work?

I spent hours fritzing with this thing. Yes, fritzing, it's a new word.

Seriously, I took quite a while on this guy. I even had to walk away from it a couple of times. It should have been obvious to use the heated method. That I clearly blame myself. I should have known better. Either way, what is done... is done. It's now past tense.

I need help with the relevant, which is the now.

Yea a metal pin would work but I like the screw idea. I took a tiny screw cut off the head and dremiled a tiny hole the size of the screw into the arm. then dremiled a matching hole in the shoulder pin. Then i put some loctite in the holes and screwed them together. Its holding better then new.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is loctite?

I've had Predators from the original AVP ones all the way up until now. I do feel that Wolf was the worst in some ways. I had three in my posession and all had problems with loose legs and arms. Furthermore, there was excess plastic in the forearm attachments of a couple that made connecting the piece very difficult.

Each Predator has its own little problems that you have to over come (Elder Pred 2 shin guards) and they take a lot of time and patience to put together.

I don't think it's right to insult a fellow collector who is looking for help in trying to build his first Pred. Instead of criticizing him and bragging about your incredible Predator building skills, give him some useful tips that you used when building your predators. We should encourage people that are trying to get into this hobby.

NOTE: Predator building skills aren't something you should brag about and belittle others with unless you have no life.

Sorry. Its the Brand of Super Glue i like. I have over the years used tons of super glue and by far Loctite is my favorite. There mostly known for Auto thread Lock on screws and such.

Thanks, I appreciate that bud. I am not saying these are impossible to build. They aren't. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to slap these together, but the plastics they use aren't the best. Either way, I think it's nice when people apply their two cents into a post, as long as it is constructive.

Thanks again! This should be repairable, without even going the route of purchasing a new Predator body.

What would be the best places to pick up such a glue? Hobbyist store or a hardwore store.. or both?

Locktite is the glue that Sideshow recommended me when the straps on my Emma statue was de-glued.

Please PM me if you want me to fix this thing. I have never had any of my Hot Toys AVP stuff break because of my handling. I am a pro at these. I even have other people either send me or bring me their figures to build and fix. I can build one of these in 20 minutes with no problems. jUst ht me up. I dont chrge for building, just customzing. I like building these. Just look up threads started by me to see my work. I come from the model kit era; Hot Toys is a cake walk compared to that.

im waiting on a cleaner pred from the bay and lost pred on the way to me,,hope i dont have the same issues lol

essential tool for HT preds :lecture:lecture:lecture:lecture

That should've been the Sideshow exclusive for all the Hot Toys Preds... :monkey3
Wolf is the only one i've tried and it is a ^^^^^ to put together. Seriously bro, shame you didn't use the old hairdryer trick. It really is your best friend putting stuff like this together. Got 4 more preds to put together one day...Not looking forward to it. :monkey4

Give up on the body Eli btw. I think you're better off buying a fresh one off ebay. Top marks for trying though
