Need more RAMBO discussion going on here!

The thing for me with some points in the First Blood score is that it was quiet to a point of almost not needing music, like it was like a musical heart beat giving tone to moments at times, which is why I say I like the RAMBO one best overall, it just takes me away from the first track to the last and I never want to jump ahead at any point, there are some moments in the FB score where I skip ahead. However, some of my favorite FB musical moments are when Rambo finds out Delmar's dead, it's such a sad rendition of Long Road, but it's beautiful, the rendition of Long Road that plays when Rambo marches back into town over the bridge, the music when Trautman first speaks to Rambo over the radio, the music when Rambo breaks through the barricade with the army truck and the subsequent pieces when he's tearing through town and the final rendition of Long Road as he's being arrested. I guess the only musical points I'm not a big fan of are the quiet moments in the cave, the movie needed them, but as just audio in a score, they're a little simplistic for me.

Is anyone into collecting the reproduction RAMBO KNIVES?

I'm tempted to get the First Blood Part 2 knife, my favorite of all the knives. Interestingly, that knife was originally going to be seen in RAMBO before Sly changed a scene. There's a promo image that has it in his belt.

I NEVER get tired to hearing the score to First Blood, the late Jerry Goldsmith was a genious! I totally agree about Tyler's work too, he is an extremely talented individual. The score to "Rambo" was very well done, it truly made the film that much more enjoyable!

What an interesting piece compared to the other knives.I wouldnt wait for Hot Toys to make a Rambo 4 because these are selling out quick or are hard to locate n stock right now....I think bbts has them right now for 119.99

When you get a chance post a few pics of it. I would like to see some different angles and such.

Not bad, but they should have done like I did with my Goldsmith trailer and just cut the audio from the trailer and have it be music and picture, it gets annoying when two music tracks fight each other.

Before seeing Rambo, I was really against the idea of minimal use of Goldsmith's material, then I heard the score and I loved it, and then I saw the movie and added context to the music and really, Tyler's work is 100% perfect for that film. There are places I think you could use Goldsmith material, but the feeling his work stirs up would be out of context with the visuals of the scenes where I can think to use it. Like the music from Rambo being sprung from the Vietnamese prison camp in FB2, part of me feels like that should have overscored the end battle of RAMBO, but it's so flighty and jubilant almost, it would have felt out of context in RAMBO at that point I think.

You guys should really see member "Rock83" Rambo III Hibben knife, apparantly its now discontinued (right after he got his) $1200! Expensive but AMAZING! He'll see this thread once he wakes up, he's probably one of the biggest Rambo fans I know!

This is going to be a great Fathers day for me as I already know that I am gettin the FIRST BLOOD Jacket version the FIRST BLOOD M-60 version and COL. TRAUTMAN all 3 for Fathers day. I think my wife is finally starting to dig these figures because all my display cabs are in the Family / TV room with no complaints Shoot , I even caught her gazing at the displays the other day. And she even had a couple of suggestions on how I should arrange them.

The only one worth repeated re-watching you mean? The other 3 you can keep in the archives... I'm not saying this to be confrontational, but the other last 3 aren't classic like First Blood is. Not by a long shot!
