Thanks for all the info. Of all the knives Rambo 2 is my favorite design, that long curve to the pointed end, all the serations, the compas in the handle. It's essentialy just FB knife, but noticeably larger. I'll probably get the HCG version. I may get the machette from RAMBO, not sure, might do R3 too, who knows, once I have one I'm sure I'll want them all.

Are they sharp enough to be used or are they dulled down for collecting?

They are a little sharp, but not "Knife sharp",they were made for collecting only.
My favourite is the Rambo 3,simply because its very stylish, love the design, actually, the knife wasnt originally made this way, they came up with 3 designs for the Rambo 3 knife, and what you probably didnt know is that Stallone used 2 different knives in Rambo 3,if you pop in Rambo 3 dvd, check the part where he and his afgan partner crawls over the minefield, his knife is different, and when they crawl close to the fence and Rambo is cutting an opening,he is back with the knife we know, dont know if its a movie mistake or not, check pics below:

As you're posting pictures, do you know of any sites with good size and quality images, I've only found ones for RAMBO, but not the first 3 and I love pictures.

Havent seen much reviews on those knives, you can see some on ebay, mostly on the Rambo 3 knife, and you have that site i posted a link to, www.cartertown.com .
here is pics of my 2 UC knives:

My bad, I meant pictures from the movies of like Sly and gang cuz you had those 2 nice Rambo 3 shots :lol

oh,im not sure, google is nice, can always find something there.BTW,have you seen the different prototype knife that was meant to be used in Rambo 4?Stallone rejected it because it looked too stylish,he wanted something simple as possible, this is the prototype, kick ass knife wouldnt you say?

Alot of money but if i was a millionaire i wouldt definitely get this one.

No bad, but I know why Stallone rejected it and I think the used one was the better choice. Rambo was meant to be almost a primitive in RAMBO, just a killing machine realizing what he is and coming to terms with it and unleashing it and the used knife being so raw and unrefined really embodies that.

yeah im happy with his choice as well, suits so well with the last movie.

The Rambo 3 knife was also supposed to be seen in Rambo 4,so Gil Hibben made 20 of them available for sale.
The story was that Rambo threw his knife away somewhere in the movie, but they didnt add that scene, dont know if its added in the deleted scenes on the dvd,as i am waiting for the Blu ray coming in July.

Here is a pic, showing his Rambo 3 sheath, same one as seen in Rambo 3,same sheath was used for the Machete, only the bottom part was cut to fit the machete.

Interesting, hope Gil's customers for those 20 don't feel duped seeing the DVD because it wasn't the Rambo 3 knife, it was the Rambo 2, not sure about the sheath, definitely not the Rambo 2 sheath, but the knife was definitely Rambo 2.

As for the scene, it's not so much a deleted scene as an alternate take on when he cleans up the dead pirates.

That came as a big shock to me,didnt know about the Rambo 2 knife,i guess he packed his bag of knives and went to Thailand:lol

As Gil made Stallones knives for Part 4 im sure he knows what he talks about,Stallone maybe changed his mind, since when you ask Gil about it,he says it was supposed to be Rambos first knife in Rambo 4 until he looses it.As you can also see,he has the Rambo 3 sheath on him there.

It says the same thing on cartertown, most reliable source on these knives.

Thanks for posting this Sean, good thing to know,is the Rambo 3 knife shown in any of the deleted scenes?

Yes it is, its in the scene when he goes back to the pirates ship to destroy the evidence. He lights it on fire and throws his Rambo III knife into the flames

Yeah then its true,i actually wanted this 1/20 knife, its the same, but better steel, more solid than the one used in Rambo 3.

No, that's the Rambo 2 knife, that's where I took the still from, Stallone even says Rambo 2.

In the actual movie or in a deleted scene does this happen. In the movie he just gases the pirates boat and throws a zippo on it and drives away. Tell me where to look. Thanks

:lol my bad, sorry man I had a REALLY stressed day at work, can't believe I even typed III. Whoops. Yeah Sean I mean't Rambo II, also my favorite of the 4 too.

I think i'm gonna pop in R4 now, great movie! I need to relax my brain right now. :duh

I only saw it once because I didn't keep the DVD, but I bought the Ultimate Rambo 3 to check out the deleted scenes for kicks and one had him forging his knife, much like in RAMBO, and if I remember correctly, the Rambo 2 knife and some other military gear was in a trunk he had with him at the monestary. I'm glad that got cut, it didn't make much sense for him to have a military uniform in a trunk as he ended Rambo 2 with only his pants, knife and boots for military gear. Really makes you wonder though, where'd he go after Afghanistan and what'd he do all those years. That's the only thing I don't like about the story of RAMBO, Rambo 3 had him riding off with Trautman, almost saying, I'm a solider, I accept it, figuring they'd end up together, but RAMBO has him back in Thailand as a recluse again, would have been nice if the story gave some reason why he went from everything was ok to I hate the world, but if you ignore that one point and just watch it, it's a great film so I guess that's why Sly didn't worry, you don't have to have that for RAMBO to work.

It's all good dude, go watch R4 and chill, nothing more stress relieving than watching Johnny shoot the place up with that badass machine gun.

BTW, surprisingly they don't name a model on the DVD, anyone know a model for that machine gun, if HT ever makes a figure, you'd think they'd make the gun with like a tripod stand, obviously no truck, but who knows, and I'd love to have it to go with him.

It's not really a deleted scene. On the SE DVD, there's a featurette about the weapons and at one point Stallone discusses the knife and mentions how their was a different take on the pirate cleanup scene and the Rambo 2 knife played a part in it, but he didn't like the feel of it all, and I agree with him, so it was cut and it wasn't like cut for time or anything so I think that's why it's not in deleted scenes, I think those are ones he would like to have kept in but felt they had to go for the sake of the overall picture.

Yeah thats a good point,i was hoping we would hear what happened to Trautman, maybe we will get some answers in Rambo 5?Remember that Stallone said that this movie wont be like the previous, action packed adventure with a killer machine type of movie.Stallone wanted the fans to see a whole different Rambo this time, imagine that,we will finally see a soft John Rambo, who would have thought?!:lol

Which dvd has the deleted scenes? No Rambo dvd have ever had any deleted scenes

The Ultimate Editions the, last set releases before a month ago, had them, they were in like the $5 bins at Walmarts here, First Blood had the alternate ending on it, Rambo 3 had a few deleted clips, nothing substantial which is why I got rid of the DVD.
