Previously, I only collected Sideshow's James Bond and Universal Monsters figures. For a while, I had been considering getting into the Modern Horror series. I used to love those 80's slasher flicks, and think that even though most of them (except for the original Halloween, ANOES, TCM and a few others) were pretty bad, the characters were alway great, and really cool & intresting looking. Yesterday at a Sci-Fi Fan Day, one guy was selling alot of really great Sideshow stuff for awesome prices, all MIB.
I finally had found my long sought after Werewolf of London for only 39.99 (He had the original Lugosi Dracula, The Creature Walks Among Us, two WWOLs, the Monster from SON OF FRANKENSTEIN, and Mr. Hyde all for 39.99!). I then saw that he had the original NOES Classic Freddy for 44.99. I was gonna get the WWOL no matter what, but then I had trouble choosing between Mr. Hyde and Freddy.
I gave in and got both the WWOL and Classic Freddy for only 65 bucks as a set.

Next, I'd like to get one good Jason for old Frederick to hang out with. Right now, Fred is lonely, but found a friend in Roger Moore:

There are over half a dozen Jasons, and even his mother to choose from! Right now, I'm really leaning towards the Jason Goes to Hell figure, since even though that movie sucked, Jason looked his best in it. Should I get the JGTO, or should I wait for the Part 4 version. Any other suggestions?

I don't have any Jasons, but I'd suggest part 3,6,7 or waiting for part 4 Jason which should be very cool.

Yeah I agree, I like Freddy Vs. Jason the most. That guy is friggin huge!
But it's not really classic Jason. Since part 3 is difficult to find and represents classic Jason with the Hockey Mask, I'd suggest the upcoming Final Chapter figure that was just announced. It'll be the closest to a Classic Jason that you can find cheaply.

part 3 for sure!

Classic Jason and has a bigger body than the other Jason figures.

Jason Goes to Hell would be my favorite if it weren't for the somewhat short sleeves. If you can look past the small bit of exposed smooth plastic, I say get him. Since that is a pretty big no-no for me, my favorite remains the part 7 Jason. His clothes are very loose and tattered, and is very gruesome under the mask. It's really difficult to put part 7 in a "bad pose", he just looks good all around.

That said, I've never seen the FvsJ one, but I'll be hunting that one done soon enough.

The Freddy Vs. Jason version of Jason also has the bigger body and it has way better articulation than part 3.

I'd go with the F VS. J Jason if I were you.

IMO,Nothing compares to the Jason part 3 ..The best 12'' ever...But part 4 will look great if mounted on the right bodie.

It really depends on whether you're looking for a "human" Jason (Parts 2-4), or a "zombie" Jason (parts 6-10).

If you're looking for the former, you might be good to go if you order the upcoming part 4 Jason. If you're looking for the latter, my favorite by far is Jason from part 7. One of the worst movies, but a great look.

I agree, but he'll have to spend a hefty sum to pick that one up...unless you want to sell him one from your collection of seven or so...:D

Thanks for the tips! Im basically looking for any good Jason that isn't wearing a burlap bag on his head.
I saw QTVR of the Part 4 Jason standing next to the JGTH version on the website, and I'm still really torn between those two.
Here's the link:

To me the Part 4 version looks nearly identical to the Part 3 version, except it's bloodier and it has a big gash on it's head.

BTW, what's the story with the Part 3 version? It is by far the most expesive and rare out of the Moder Horror Classic figures, yet, Jason is the one character Sideshow loves to revisit the most. Classic Freddy and Leatherface also came from this original assortment, and can still be found plentifully for around retail. Why is Part 3 Jason of all characters, the most popular, when there are so many other similar versions of the character available, while there is only one classic Freddy, Michael or Leatherface, which are still much easier to come by?

Because like I SAID SO MANY TIMES BEFORE..THIS FIGURE HAS NO EQUALS !!!! 1- There is the body Sideshow used for this figure: its a rare 13.5'' body( later Jasons figures were produced with a cheaper, smaller body).2- the face sculpt by Matt Falls is one of the most amazing sculpt on a 12'' ever !!! it captures exactly the essence of Jason Voorhees:a monstrous evil creature but with a kind of sadness in his face(like a modern day Frankenstein). You really gotta see the sculpt in person!!! 3- Jason is King of modern day horror icon...So to answer your question to why is he so valuable,I think its simply a matter of fans viewing this as one of the best 12 '' figure ever.

Jason 3 goes for so much because he was the first Moderm Monster by Sideshow and later people played catch up.

While he is great and has a awesome head/neck sculpt, I still think FvsJ is the best looking one. F13 4 Jason looks similar to 3, but I believe he's have a different headsculpt and accessories and the cloths a little different and he will be on a more articulated "big boy".

If you don't have any Jasons, I would get F13 4 one or the FvsJ one.

Anyone know if Pt 4 will go up for pre-order tomorrow or Wednesday? There are "horror pre-orders" tomorrow and a "horror pre-order" on Wed. They wouldn't save both the Terminators and Jason for Wednesday would they?

Is it me or is Jason machete chopped into his hand in that QTVR? I don't think I've seen pt. 4 (at least reasently) so I don't know if that was in the film or not.

Yeah..near the end of the movie, Jason get his hand split in half with a machette by Tommy Jarvis 'sister.

Thanks! Now the real question is weather it will be his only left hand or an alternate interchangable hand or the exclusive.
