Neil Sims Doctor Who sculpts

I've commissioned TWO Dr Who sculpts from Neil Sims:

1. Tom Baker (painted by me)

2. Matt Smith WIP

I reviewed the sculpt up close this week and there's only some minor changes before the resin casts are made.

I'm thinking McGann or Tennant next.

I love the Matt Smith. Glad I am on board for it. My buck body is here on my desk... naked except for shoes and a watch.. but the rest of his clothes are on the way.

I really think Neil is a talented sculptor.

I'd love to see a better Eccleston. The walkie talkie head was good for a mass market product, but still could have been better.

Here's an update - this still isn't completed but just a tester. The nose still needs some tweaking and the eyes were widened on this cast, though it needs done on the sculpt itself for further casting.

Different head, this time painted by the sculpter. As you can see n this one the match is great (the photo of the actor has the head sl tilted forwards) but the eyes are too small - hence why I widened them on my cast.

Should be soon. With Neil I've found he's reluctant to let anything out he doesn't think is perfect. He'll also revise the sculpt until it's perfect and although that makes it less quick, it should make it worthwhile!!!

Considering that the new show doesn't even debut in the U.S. for a couple more weeks, it's great to see a sculpt this far along. Can't wait!
