Aliens teased a relationship between Ripley and Hicks that didn't come to fruition inside of that movie, you're left to assume it might go there - but now I'm not sure we want to see it go there. Perhaps that's ageist of me.

And the only other thing that'd happen is Ripley and/or Hicks die again - and bringing back classic heroes only to kill them off sucks.
