Looks great (but that is not a surprise).
Love how the directing style has changed.
No more guerilla filming now that Neill has the money to do the stylehe likes the most (Cameron and Bay, check his shool demo reel its funny).
BUT JUST **** TO THE STUDIO for basically spoiling the whole movie in this trailer.
Great work guys.

I really hope the "happy ending" to this thing isn't a planets worth of hobos jamming themselves into a space station.

Going to be the best film of the summer for sure. That is one sizzling trailer.

Also, not to spark a tired debate; but the user who claimed that 'District 9' isn't Neill Blomkamp's movie has no idea what he's talking about. None whatsoever.

That film is 100% completely Neill Blomkamp's.

Read properly before stating stuff that have not been said.
TetraVaal how come i am not suprised that a member named like that CANT agree or even consider the idea lol Guess you've been around the fisrt weeks of shooting in south africa and at the edit bay...

BTW if you watched the trailer, story wise you got everything.
Damon gets ill, gets armor, need to hack Elysium (boss) to save his own ***, Copley is sent after him, realizing he can change things he's no more selfish he wants to help the little girl, gets to Elysium, fights Copley, just in time to save the girl and he...? Everyone is happy but still poor and dirty yay!
That is all there is to it and they give you everything in the trailer.
How dumb are those studio execs.
Great visuals story done to the death.
That is why after he's done what i consider his first real flick, i hope he will decide to hire a screenwriter for the next one, give him his idea and concept and let him do his work.
Neil is a concept guy, he's got great ideas but not a great screenwriter.
And thats not an insult. H'es doing a very decent job.
But im hoping he will not settle for this.
BUT ****ING GREAT VISUALS NONETHELESS!!!

He's not a great screenwriter yet he penned one of the best science fiction films of recent memory.

Considering your inadequate grammar and punctuation, I doubt you've ever been close to anyone in the film industry--let alone one refined enough to have contributed to 'District 9.'

That film is his, through-and-through. In fact, even Peter Jackson went out of his way at last year's Comic Con to point out that he had virtually nothing to do with that movie other than funding it. He completely credits it to Neill. So what incentive would there be to gain from that, smart guy?

As for the 'Elysium' trailer; I couldn't care less how much is shown or wasn't shown. At least it establishes real characters to compliment the spectacular visuals and action. So the guy isn't a competent screenwriter, right? How do you explain the brilliant and hilarious banter being spit back and forth between Max and the parole robot?

You have no idea what you're talking about. You should be banned for trying to spread malice and misinformation about a filmmaker you don't even have the first clue about. You're a cancer to this thread.

First lets get to the easy insults.
English is not my first language yet i manage to be clear enough to make you upset an call me cancer (overreacting are we?). Let me know how you do in french or japanese then we ll talk about my merits in foreign language. Go ahead then you ll have the right to mock me...
Bah you ll probably just ignore that same as you re ignoring all the kudos i gave Neil.

Pj is a gentleman.
Why would he trash a young and talented filmmaker that he bets on?
That would be a stupid thing to do. Mentor him as he did when the first dailies arrived was his job he took charges that is all im saying. Short films dont fully prepare you to your first feature, this is what happened here, producers were affraid of what they saw and took charges to put the movie on track.
Happened before Will happen again.
Also who need bad press like that? Director/producer dissing his last project.
Nobody need that. Not even Pj is above that.

God even something that upset everybody here, trailers, that tell you the whole movie, you defending it just for the sake of trashing me. Wow how honest is that?
Thank god they did not show damon dying in the end.

The bot scene, Brillant and hilarious? Never seen before you should add.
Oh wait there is a little movie called TOTAL RECALL, very obscure.
Directed by an unknown called verhoeven with Arnold whats his name.
You might have heard of it?
There s this scene with a taxi bot that is brillant an hilarious.
Woops!

"Elysium." Guy living on a futuristic, dirty and disgusting world, needs to help a third world downtrodden workforce to rise above the tyrannical government overlords. He fuses himself to a piece of esoteric technology, and sets off to engage in pyrotechnic battle in which vehicles of all kinds blow up well. Oh, wait. That was "District 9". Sorry...
What a writer he is!

Now im not the type who thrw away the baby with the bath water, i can see the big qualities in Neil s work but also his flaws. You dont help artist by having your tongue up their *******s but by saying frankly but without disrespect what could be made better.
His writing is lacking, its decent but lacks what could take him to become the like of a ridley Scott or a James Cameron. Basically i should be saying sorry for being exigent and wanting him to be an even better director.
Crazy sad fanboys world we live in.

What a bunch of hypocrite fanboys troll you two are.
You never adress the points i make and just act like rabbid fans who cant take the slightest critic about the object of their affection.
But keep on going you re making me laugh.
Especially Celtic and his lynching mob mentality :))))))

This didn't go well before, why the **** are you doing it again?

You don't have proof, other then you're word, and we won't take that ****.

Where were you when i said this is my two cents feel free not to believe me.
But yeah as you can see my track record here is all about hatin'
Got nothing better to do, than go from movie thread to movie thread mocking or provocking people... Oh wait thats you.

God what a tool you are.

I didn't think much of the trailer to be honest. I thought it was very "meh" even though I hate using that term. Just didn't look very interesting to me. Too close to District 9 visually and the story seemed a bit forced (another social Sc-fi analogy). But I will still take a trip to see it when it's released as I thought D9 was great.
Movie looks pretty cool and I like Matt Damon a lot (also enjoyed District 9, as well), but this does seem to be recycling a lot of D9's visual cues (and general story). The ships, authoritarian police/guards, shanty town enviro, etc., could've come straight from D9.

Be careful about what you say or the tought police will beat you like damon in this trailer :)

Good for you Olbertfrog, (Not for having someone call you Cancer) but I think its awesome when anyone can communicate well enough to be part of a community thats not their native language. I can't, wish I could, I've studied two foreign languages and wouldn't be able to hang in either of them as well as you do.

Okay, thats all I wanted to add, everyone go back to their petty bickering. :lol

Oh yeah! the new trailer looks awesome, Damon looks at the top of his game and Copley looks bad ***. He made A-team bearable, I'm sure hes going to shine in this. Cannot wait! :clap

The only reason I'm interested is exoskeleted Damon and Copley kicking ***.
I don't like the overall concept and the look.
