I am almost 100% sure that we will not get a Vader announcement tomorrow. He is too major of a release to be debuted during what is essentially a "fans-only" event. Not to say it isn't possible... but I think Vader will be a flagship piece and one they really trump up and use for marketing.

I agree with the idea of tomorrows figure(s) most likely being an offering of imperial officers or whatnot from the military line. Nothing mind-shattering, but a cool addition nonetheless.

If its an imperial officer, I'm hoping for the black uniform (which fits with the hint) a la the vintage Kenner figure:

What's the difference between a SS figure and the Medicom version of the same figure?

I may cause trouble with this, but here is an example of the same figure, but from two different companies. Each with their pros and cons :monkey3

So you can see, even with the same character, the individual companies will approach them in different manners. What you prefer is a matter of taste.

Hey, its almost over (only 45 minutes for me) time to raise some Hell!!!

Sideshow > Medicom... there I said it :lol:monkey3

At least it's different than Pixletwin insisting the announcement will be Vader every 5 minutes! :lol

Actually I believe it is just the title given to a sith lord. i.e. Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, Darth Plagus, Darth Maul and so on. I would think the Jedi equivalent is the title of Master. Master Yoda, Master Kenobi, Master Windu.

We hear these titles used often in the prequels and not so much in the OT. They refer to Vader as Lord quite often in the OT.

In A NEW HOPE Old Ben called him Darth. So going by that Lucas should have not given them the Darth title since it actually seemed like a new first name for Anakin in ANH.

Oh no, Lucas broke pre-established concepts in Star Wars :rotfl Par for the course, love the saga, love George's visions, but weak he is with continuity.

When the new Star Wars figure is announced, will the pre-order go up then as well... like the Shaun of the Dead figures?

I hope not... I'm not sure that I can safely plan on being on the computer at the right time. It would make sense, given the mass apeal of the license, that Sideshow would follow the announcement with a scheduled time of the PPO order window.

Wait, what are the pros of the medicom Luke?:monkey3

I really expect that either we'll be having an inclusive order for Vader announced tomorrow and starting on Friday to go for a few days, or it will be announced that it's coming and will be available at a later date (Like the Gandalf PF).

Stormtrooper Officers. That would, in my opinion be far from Awesome. If it was a three pack, say, tarkin, A stormtrooper officer, and one other, ok, sure.

If it's not a Vader, I'll be sad.... But Hurricane will probobly be happy. TOOO stoked for him at this point to not get one...... one way or another......

Though to be fair, Jedi Luke is (IMO) the worst Medicom Star Wars figure to date (as well as the only non-armored character released to date, though Maul is coming).

I think the scale difference is worth mentioning; Medicom figures are slightly smaller than 1:6 scale, so they look runty compared with Sideshow figures. The main issue people seem to have with the Medicom Vader is that it's about the same height as, for example, the Sideshow Jedi Luke.

(Also, I'm being this pedantic to help answer the newbie's question, I know that all of us who post here regularly are well aware of these differences.)
