Thank you! Eager to see how yours is shaping up now. Did you add the 'skirt' portion yet to the sniper shirt? I'm curious to see how it will look all together. I've got one of those shirt coming now.

You're gonna think I'm crazy (then again, you'll probably understand better than anyone) but I don't even have the head or body yet! I'm heavily into a custom Col. Vogel right now and I'm accruing Sallah parts along the way. Once Vogel is done, I'll devote myself more to Sallah. Both heads are going to Josh Small (once he's open for business) for a re-paint. These are the two custom Indy figures I've been after for a while and it's amazing to have them finally come to "life".

I did cut off the snaps and buttons on my Rhett vest this morning. Also ironed out the lapels. I'll paint it tonight.

Got my Rhett in, vest will work great. And got my shovel. It's not the same one you guys have, but it's nice and I'll make it work. Will look cool.
Got to find better hands for my figure though. The body I am using has old man looking hands. Need some SS buck hands I think to fit it. Pics when I can.
Doing a lot of other stuff at the same time. He'll come through soon.
Nice to have a Sallah.

Glad to be aboard!

Something cool showed up today WG... :1-1:

I know I don't have the attire on correctly yet, no real time, (Might get the shirt for that collar area...or may not...) but I have some good stuff, so I will get to him when I can.

Did get the shovel re-handled and painted, and his shoes and socks on.
And speaking of Sallah's shoes and socks...
Found this ref in the Indy Complete Making of Book....
I went with light tan socks for mine...

Anyway, all aboard now. Just watching you all to see how you guys solve it.
And WG, your's is here too. :hi5:
Hang tight! It'll be a while. Got a lot to do still. Til then, I'll be saving refs and more. This is a fun and EASY one.

Sweet photo! I am definitely going to need some new shoes...and I will need socks as well but I think I will use what I have for now.

I got my head today and that thing is fantastic. Just waiting on the cloth.

BTW Rich where did you get the dye you used for the sash?

Love to see pics of that head!

Just got BOOTS and a pair of white socks together on eBay! I'm now set with the outfit and one prop.

Shirt and shovel should be here today or tomorrow.

Gotta start building my torch out of twigs.... :)

Awesome !! You will all beat me to finishing my own copy :rotfl

I have a shovel coming, still need sash etc...

Thanks for getting the heads over so quick, Russ!

All the parts you need are listed here in the thread. Pretty simple bash. Should look excellent!

For the Sash you could probably just use a strip cut from an old t-shirt, just color/paint it.

I'm looking forward to finally having a character that I can use my SS ark with.

What size (width) dowel rod did you guys use?

Got my Bmarz-type shovel today -- real metal, very cool! Will work perfect. Gotta get a dowel now. Bent it a little to match the screen version.

Also got that Mando-shirt -- the winter sniper "tunic" shirt with the accurate collar. It's thicker material that I thought it would be -- that's a good thing -- and the collar is indeed PERFECT! I don't think it will match with my Kenobi robe material -- which is much more like burlap -- so I may have to find something that's closer to the shirt's tight weave. Almost like t-shirt cotton.

Boots and socks should be here tomorrow or the next day, just in time for my Sallah build this weekend! :rock

Wor-Gar, when you say you bent the shovel do you mean the sides of the head?

Got my nazi night gowny looking thing yesterday. Whomever's idea was thank YOU cause it's going to be perfect!

Cool to see we have Les with us! Look forward to seeing those repaints! :D By my count there's eight or so making Sallah including Barlow. :rock

Not the sides, the front flat part. Just a bit. The shovel Sallah carries becomes the shovel Indy uses to first break ground so it's easy to find ref in the movie. It's a very small detail...but every detail counts with such a simple custom.

8 people building here? I'm surprised, I thought it was more like 5.

Once we're done and it's displayed a few more might jump on the bandwagon...once they see how awesome this figure is gonna be!

Still cleaning so I can really get back to my paintups, but I did start on the Sallah head somewhat, late the other night, with paints, first paints I have applied in a couple of months. (TOO much stuff going on in the last few months to get proper work done, hence this cleanup for one thing!) but with the now totally cleaned off desk, and all the backlog work getting properly filed so I can get to it without reaching over it all for paint, I can maybe get Sallah worked in somehow amidst it all. I know that's a bit selfish-ish, but dammit I need a spark, and this is a great one! He's kinda got me going again on headpaints. Kind of a THANKS! I needed that! :rock
Anyway, look for pics of it soon. Am still pretty tired from hours and days of cleaning (and dust!) but he should be soon. Then I got a lot of other stuff to get back to.
But thanks for such an enjoyable thread. Good ole Sallah!

Shirt. Not sure whether I want to bother or not. I could hide the line under the vest where they mesh, but I don't want to lose my robe's look, so not sure whether to get the shirt or not. Let me know guys.

And THANKS RUSS! :rock Amazing work!

More soon!

Got Sallah's boots in today. They came with a pair of light tan socks as well! Sallah is now totally ready for his outfit build!

I'll post pics of the boots later tonight for y'all. They're perfect if you haven't found a good pair yet.
