Pros are cheap.

You're going to need hands, a short neck joint and feet too.

Thanks so much, man!

Ordered!

Beautiful!

:hi5:

Head en route from Vartal (I'll be covering the fez with a turban). Got a shovel. Got a few different shoe options to try. Got the sniper tunic. Got plenty of unused hands left over from other figures ...

Still waiting on some material to arrive. The Missus is quite handy with a needle and thread (not to mention she's a huge Indy fan!) so we're going to try making the vest from scratch. Should be fun to try.

Do you folks recommend sewing his "pudge pad" into the costume or attaching it to his body? I was thinking the costume route might be a bit easier.

Let's see some pics of your gear, guys. Sone of you even have whole figures (less the head).

Got my Rod-y McDowel today. Too slim. Went all the way back for a slightly larger one. Lot of work for a shovel. :lol

If I get the chance to dye the shirt and resew everything I'll post pics... then it's just a matter of getting the vest and head in place... Might cut the collar off the shirt I have too.

You're oh-so close....

My larger dowel is too large. :lol Looks like I'll be sanding this weekend.

Anyway, I hope to post pics of Sallah tomorrow with all clothes and shovel PRE dying. Just to show the collection of parts as they come on him for those who may come to this game late.

Tea dyed? Talking about the shirt etc.? I got a shirt also. Not sure what to do with it now! LOL! Love the collar, but don't want to give up use of my old Obi-Wan robe. Do I make a skirt for it? Too much going on to keep me away from this project, but my mind keeps coming back to it. Hope to have something to show soon. Got a torch made of toothpicks. It's short, but works. It's a burned down one I guess!
Can't wait to see some Sallahs!

I thought the robes, which on mine are just a shirt and extra material to make up the skirt, were a bit light in color. I'm much happier now! Sorry about the bad/fuzzy pics, I just snapped a couple of quick iphone shots in my garage.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the idea of the toothpicks for a torch Les! Brilliant! :clap Can't wait to see pics.

"I'm so pleased you're not dead!"

My favorite Sallah quote.:wave

Cottonbals and tape is all you need. A little trial and error and you should be able to add the perfect amount of pudge to him.

Damn I keep missing everything in this thread! :gah: :lol

Flosi, that looks great so far! Really like the look of the cloth turban! Any chance for a tutorial or something on that? The outfit looks great and you've nailed the color of the sash. Also dig the weathering on the boots!

Still debating the right body for mine. Don't have Indy done yet, waiting on the jacket, so I kinda have to base it off that. Might at least see about getting the proper fabric to makes the skirt tomorrow though cause I want to get up to speed with this project.

I did find a good idea for a vest, barring a little seam removal. The Twilight Barbie has a blue pinstripe shirt. I know most of you have the Rhett vest but I figured I'd put it out there for those still assembling. I may grab Edward if I can find use for the other clothes.

and Yavin Puke... :yuck

Shaping up beautifully, Flosi... :clap

Love the little compare with the 3" Sallah.

I built my shovel today and tried going the "shirt + skirt" route.

Crummy 'in-build' pics but I wanted some feedback. Ignore if you can the fact that the tunic is not dyed so it throws the vest color off.

This is my original outfit (with the shirt off to the side):

And here's the 'shirt+skirt' look:

Also, boots and socks for Commando Sallah!

I'll try to get in here with pics as soon as I can of where mine is. The shirt vs robe conundrum is shared in my corner. My Hasbro Obi robe is so nice texture and colorwise. May not be screen accurate, but it has more character than the alternative in hand does.
Flosi, your stuff so far is totally cool.

Used toothpicks for the torch like you suggested Les. Hot glue worked well for the flame, using Prismacolor markers between layers of glue which were applied upside down. Sorry about the picture quality, posting from my phone at my workbench in the garage. And thanks for the kind words Les, I apreciate it.

Looks good to me, Flosi! As for the size what if you essentially made two torches like that and glued them end to end and then covered the seam with one of the wraps?

...The project is alll about covering seams it seems. :dunno
