Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I'd buy all the Doctors if they kept the same level of detail and execution as this (assuming it ends up looking as good after production.)

BTW - I asked on their Facebook page if Amy will have sculpted or rooted hair and they said they are developing her with rooted hair, which I think is a good choice.

Me, too, if the rooted hair is done right. Hopefully, it will be.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I hope it is sculpted hair. I still hate the rooted stuff even on Hot Toys finest efforts.

That's a never ending, hot-topic argument, Pix. Back when I commissioned Ada to make the 1:6 Leela head I had to decide whether to make her bald and use a wig or go with sculpted hair.

Ultimately I went with sculpted hair because with sculpted hair you can make it look perfect and I was willing to sacrifice her head movement for her to look right without taking chances.

Now, I know a wigged head and rooted hair are different, but as I look at my sculpted haired Leela she looks gorgeous, but it really sucks not being able to pose her being able to do anything other than look forward, so I really wish I had went with real hair.

All I can say is straighter hair like Amy's should be simpler to do with real hair than say, Tegans stewardess hair, so it should actually come out looking okay.

True. I will say the new HT Baby Doll figure is the first time I haven't totally gagged when I saw the rooted hair, so there is hope for me I guess. :lol

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

Nobody a fan of 1st,2nd or 3rd?

I'm in there for the whole set of Doctors - especially want a Pertwee; as well as being a favourite he'll make for a pretty impressive figure too in his velvet smoking jacket (would be cool if he came with a 2nd, differently coloured jacket as an accessory), frilly shirt and inverness cape.

And a Davison too as he's, that oft quoted phrase these days, 'my Doctor'.

:yess:
Cool.
So many myths put around by the hair-haters but I have hordes of rooted gals here (and a few I've re-rooted and styled) and it's the only way to go with 1:6 long hair. As long as Big Chief source some high quality stuff... and study Sideshow very carefully as an object lesson in How Not To Do Rooted Hair ;)

I think they're all great and would certainly consider buying figures of 1 & 3 if they were made.

I already have top notch figures of the 2nd Doctor, Jamie & Zoe in the making thanks to WGP.

I want a Pertwee for a custom Worzel Gummidge.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I'll take pretty much everything I can get in the scale... budget providing.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

The wait for the full reveal is killing me.

Not crazy about those lines on his neck, it's like someone had been choking him with some wire.

They're actually accurate! You can see part right under his jaw. He has very visible neck lines.

He appears to have dandruff :horror

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 announcement!

I think when viewed with the naked eye the wrinkles on neck and brow will look fine.

Couple of items in the sales thread might interest you fellows!
