Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Cheers guys. I'm in to do other stuff, and my mates making a guitar. So I decided to give this a go. Now, impressive is this dudes guitar.
Anyways, I did the windows before I left, but I wasn't happy with them, so I will redo tomorrow.

Yeah good idea, can we please have blue prints? I'd like to give this a go.

Should have this finished today. As for plans, I sort of made it up as I went along.
I found bits of material that would do, and fabricated then to suit. The basic dimensions were based on a 1964 BBC drawing I found on a DVD extra.
As the TARDIS changed continuously over the years, I wanted a generic every Doctor version.
I will create plans, tho they will include what I'd do differently.

Great news! Thanks for sharing your expertise!

That really is a great project. Bravo.

Met half of Big Chief (and Matt Smith) at the Entertainment and Media Show today. Both lovely chaps. Looks like news on 10 is imminent. News on Amy will take longer as they are still perfecting the body. Saw 4 and he is better in life than in the photos. Wonderful work.

Very nice work. Generic is how I did mine. Tried to recreate my memory of the TARDIS from my childhood. Did you find that interior online somewhere or did you put it together yourself?

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I hunted a bunch of iteriors, but had to create my own. Its not as good as I planned, but it works.
This is the prototype foar a CAD CAM version. Now I've figured out an assembly plan, I can get to work on drawing the parts and then laser cutting them. I was going to go for plastic, but have opted to go for a fully wooden construct. For now tho, the Doctor has a home!!

It's not a trick, at least not really. I made an interior in the computer, and stretched it in different directions (skewing) so, when printed, creates a deep interior that isn't there. I have a plan for a back lit version. I was a little impatient to get this into the apartment tho :rotfl
Next one will be better.

Cool, I thought that would be the case - & that is a good trick (optical illusion)!
