I feel your pain, but I have to say I'm glad I waited. That's a good chunk of change difference, and hopefully it'll only be a couple more weeks before they get to the US. Now, how long it takes to get to the US distributor and then out to US retail...
If I lived in the UK I would have definitely ordered direct to support BC, but the difference in pricing was just too much for me with shipping and exchange rates (though the latter wouldn't be a much of an obstacle as it would have been once this was announced.)

That's what I'm in this line for. People have such varying opinions on companions that making any of them seems risky to me. I'm hoping Big Chief stick primarily to Doctors for now.
In the future, I could imagine Cybermen being a huge seller and maybe some Masters. As for Daleks, there are already a bunch of 12" versions from Character Options that are compatible, right?

While there are a lot of other villains, companions, and supporting characters that I would be tempted to buy, having each incarnation of The Doctor is the number one aim for me...and I just hope that the line lasts long enough and does well enough to be able to make that happen eventually.
I also think leading off with the most widespread popular Doctors is a good play, as once people have a few Doctors in hand and on their shelves it naturally starts to become a collection, and they then might be more tempted to buy their own less favoured Doctors just to 'complete the set'. Whereas if you have less popular ones too early on those same people may be more inclined to skip them.
Personally I would imagine that Eccleston and Pertwee would likely be next, after Tennant and Tom Baker, as both are still very popular, one represents the final NuWho era Doctor that would need to be made, while the other is still remembered fondly for his part in Doctor Who's oft called 'golden age' of the 70's.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hartnell didn't pop up as an announcement for the 50th though some time late next year though, as it's probably a prime time to sell the first Doctor.
Troughton and Davison certainly both still have their share of fans, and could well be next after that. Then you'd have the trio of Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann bringing up the rear in whatever order, as they are the Doctors from the more polarizing eras of the show's history. Or at least that's how I would imagine it might go anyhow.
Now, of course certain events could change things, such as how McCoy's turn in The Hobbit is recieved by audiences, and whether that gives his career and popularity a sudden boost as a result, or if any of the older Doctors are in any way roped into any of the 50th anniversary NuWho stories next year, increasing their awareness/coolness factor and/or popularity/visibility as a result.
Personally as I've said before, I'm greatly looking forward to Troughton and Colin Baker, however I'll gladly take whatever Doctor comes down the 1:6 pike, and in whatever order they arrive, just as long as Big Chief continues to do them justice.

Eccleston and Troughton would complete the set for me - However, Ex-parrot is right about wanting to collect more once you have your favourites. Nothing on earth could ever persuade me to buy Colin Baker, McCoy or McGann, but I could see myself buying Hartnell and Pertwee just to have all of the first four Doctors, and then Davison to make it five, just because although I fell out of love with Who during his tenure I still loved the show generally.
I reckon BC should also look into getting the Cushing movie rights, once people start buying them they want everything.
Doctors and daleks alone would keep them busy and keep us poor for a few years.

Ahhhh, memories. And of course it was the first time Bernard Cribbins met the Doc... I always wondered if they might make some reference to it in the series, but I don't think they did?

But just think how amazing Colin Baker's coat will be. The 5" inch figure from Character Options is really fun in this regard. I know his outfit is an eyesore, but there's something about seeing it reproduced and scaled down that makes it more tolerable. It'll be quite the feat for Big Chief to pull off successfully.

I want all the Doctors. Hands-down, I'll be getting all of those. It's funny to hear people are not that into C. Baker, McCoy and McGann. I'm guessing those people never listened to the Big Finish audio plays. I have always liked McGann, to be honest, because I think he was an awesome Doctor stuck in a fairly mediocre story, but he's really come alive in the audio plays. Colin and Sylvester's stories I appreciate more as I get older, to be honest. But really it's their turns in the audio plays that have made me huge fans of theirs.
I can imagine Colin's coat will be great to see in cloth form! I'm really excited about him. I'd love if he got a couple alternate coats as well. He could have his blue coat and his black coat from the audios. I actually think it's better to mix more popular Doctors with less popular ones, to be honest. Right now they've blown through the top 3. Which I think is smart at the start. From here, I think they should mix it up a bit:
Third Doctor
Ninth Doctor
Fifth Doctor
Eighth Doctor
First Doctor
Sixth Doctor
Second Doctor
Seventh Doctor
I think that'd make sense, to me. As far as companions and monsters I think the list of companions they should do is pretty short. Honestly, other than Sarah Jane and Leela I'm not sure which other classic companions would be advisable. I think Captain Jack and River would be good selections from the new series. Rose would be too, if Billie allows it. Monster-wise, I think the Cybermen and the Daleks are naturals.

Visually (and done right) the 6th Doc would be a very visually stunning addition to any collection. For the CO/UT range he is one of the coolest looking figures.

I have a box set of the first half-dozen or so Big Finish McGann radio-shows. While he was inoffensive, the writing is atrocious. Of course, I discovered them more recently. I imagine if one were to hear them the first time during the lean in-between years, hunger for anything Who might make one kinder to them.
He was okay in his one actual TV episode, but I'll rank the visual representation of the radio-star towards the bottom of the heap.
