Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Yup. Totally planning to build complete figures with the packs. Not planning to just have only one Doctor varient up at any one time !

If your referring to the pic posted by TheEnemy a few pages back then you are incorrect those were his own custom pieces, not Big chiefs.

Sherlock?

Holy ****

A company as good as Hot Toys that gives people what they ask for...

And I just got my 11. I'll write about it in detail later but all I want to say now is that I take back everything I said before - this figure is worth every penny of £150, and you have to have it in hand to understand that.

If anyone is on the fence, don't be - BUY NOW.

:hi5: ..now do the neck trick and make him perfect!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

That's my prediction too, Eccleston and Pertwee up next...unless they do Hartnell for the show's 50th (which wouldn't be a bad idea either).

These three Doctors would be the perfect choices to come out next. Eccleston and Pertwee are popular, and Hartnell is the perfect anniversary figure. Do it, Big Chief!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

That's how I feel about the 1st Doctor. Had audiences not enjoyed him way back then, there wouldn't be Doctors 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. etc. today. I'm definitely looking forward to the 9th Doctor joining the Big Chief range. And the 1st Doctor too. :)

I hope I am not disappointed when mine finally arrives. The paint apps on the accessories looks shoddy and his hands (right especially) looks like melting wax,

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

The length of the scarf and the pattern changed season to season. I was looking at a site that actually made replicas once. I never got around to ordering one, but when you bought a scarf you would have to specify which season you wanted because they were different. It was never short, but it was sometimes longer.

If you mean the BBC licensed versions, then yes I know, I bought both of those scarfs. :) Sadly the moths got to them and now they both sport a few holes.

Well they sure aren't HT standard, but as I said in my review they are very noticeable when blown up 500%, but in hand it looks fine. The hands on future releases could definitely do with being made of a less soft and rubbery material, and perhaps some paint detailing would help. But the accessories (considering the scale) look pretty good on the whole.

No, I don't know if these were licensed. They were hand made to order and came with quite a few variations.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Ah, thats not the ones I was thinking of then. These were mail direct by a licensed company.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I think Hartnell for the 50th would be very fitting. As he is really the only Doctor celebrating that anniversary. He could be released with some thing cool, like a BW version, as CO did a while back.
DVD you're a mind reader, I'd love a B&W version, and it would be so easy to do, an expansion pack with B&W head, hands and a neck tie job done.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Hey Cap:B, glad you got yours and are super-pleased with it.

As for the additional thoughts and ideas, they are all good and I am sure that, knowing that BCS themselves read and post here, it is all going in and feasibility conversations will probably happen over some of the things mentioned here.

Regarding the #10 Ecclestone figure, bring it on. I really thought it would be curtains for WHO again when he left and was pleasantly surprised that I liked DT also. I though that Chris was "Brrrilliant!" (see what I did there? :yess:). Great with the drama elements and possessed of a very good, light comic touch. I cannot wait to see his figure with his 3/4 length leather coat.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I hope this isn't just a clever reference to Tom Baker, if it really is Sherlock [Cumberbatch version], I'm in for these aswell.

Well, it could be I suppose, but it's a bit late now...they already have shown us the figures for both 10 and 4...? :dunno There'd be little point in showing a BAKER STREET sign unless there was something new (or else) to show.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Maybe they had two different lengths depending on what action was required ie a 'stunt scarf' that for certain scenes was shorter so not as to get tangled up in anything?

That does make sense for filming. Odd choice for a prototype scarf for a figure, though.
