Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

What brought you to this decision? The Master drop you off a satellite dish?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I asked him to do that to get away from Adric :wink1:

Joking aside it's been a number of things,

The attitude of people on the so called "fan" sites. I'm sick of dealing with all the _______s that can't accept anything less than 100% blind praise of the entire franchise.

I thought discussing Who was meant to be fun but unless you're the type that over analyses everything to the nth degree and follows the sheep it's a total waste of time.......I get more sense out of my gerbil than some of the fanboy/fangirl types.

( BTW I'm not referring to anyone here in that criticism of online Who fans. )

The recent decline in the Classic figures QC, attention to basic details and character choices..........Peri was clearly a token release just so they could say they made a companion.

So I'm either really, really burnt out and need to step away from the online side of things for a while and quit collecting the figures or I've just reached a point where it's time to find something else entirely :dunno

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Makes sense I guess. I hope the CO line gets more exciting. I am getting tired of rereleases, but not buying the Master set that came up was a relief. :lol

Possibly my last Classic purchase this and although the TARDIS, Kronos crystal & Time Sensor are all nice the Master figure has been subjected to some lazy painting.....his eyebrows are far too thick and his goatee is almost without any silver/grey bits so I used my other one for the picture.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Its the Kamelion Master when he gets all shiney as he transforms in Planet of Fire.

Another lazy variant then.

I once considered the Classics the best smaller scaled licensed action figure line ever but the 2011 releases have been poor and the QC issues have made me reluctant to order anything else even if other characters I want are made.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I can imagine buying the Master if he is paired with Kamelion-proper or a school uniform Turlough.

But I won't buy the pink Peri. Not at all interested.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

That Master variant is beyond lazy, to the point of being borderline insulting. The pink Peri was inevitable, and why I've always assumed she was the classic companion that was chosen to be made. She's the only one that could be straight repainted.

It's very obvious the classic line is on it's last legs. A bit of rehashing to keep a line going is understandable, but when it becomes primarliy rehases, the end is nigh.

The license runs until 2013 but I reckon they'll pull the plug before that.

Between CO and Product Enterprise the Classic Who license has been woefully mistreated over the years.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Here is my classic Doctor Who figure wishlist list.I want get these:
Emperor Davros
Nyssa
Adric
Tegan(Earthshock)
Ace
3rd Doctor(The Time Monster red suit)
Sutekh(Pyramids from Mars)
Valeyard(Trial of the Time Lord)
Tetrap(Time and the Rani)

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

For an extra £7.50 you can now get the "Destiny of the Daleks" set in all it's half assed glory with......a signed card from Davros actor David Gooderson :slap

Just when you think CO/UT/FP/FPI have reached the depths of the barrel they go even lower :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I saw that. I can't imagine anyone being interested in that.

Maybe the signed card will be strategically placed to divert attention from Tom's scarf being wrong! :lol

If they were going to get anyone to sign anything then Tom was the only sane choice.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

CO have apparently posted the following on their Twitter,

"We currently have no plans to release a Rory figure."

If they won't make a companion who's in the current series then there's little chance of more Classic ones.
