Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Honestly I think people are being too harsh on the sculpt. Looks fabulous to me:

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Maybe once there some loose pics in decent lighting it might look better but for me a good sculpt is one that's instantly recognisable at a glance in all kinds of lighting. That just isn't.

Not that it's stopped all the apologists at GB creaming themselves over it, some of those idiots are more excited by the f'ing packaging than the actual figure :cuckoo:

It could be worse though, Biff Bang Pow could start making the 6" figures instead :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

The quality is far too high for them to be made by CO :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

When I was a kid I used a tyre pressure gauge as a sonic screwdriver, it was perfect... true story!

As soon as someone uses the word "apologist" I stop taking the seriously. Just because someone has a different opinion than you doesn't make them an apologist. I think it's a word used by the insecure to try to bamboozle people into thinking their opinion is fact.

As far as the Leela sculpt, I'll wait until I have it in-hand. It's not breath-takingly dead on to me, but it seems perfectly acceptable to me.

No ____ Sherlock :cuckoo:

The people I'm referring to are the type that throw their toys out of the pram every single time someone makes the slightest criticism of CO.

They're the ones that have issues with differing opinions otherwise they wouldn't get so bent out of shape when someone suggests a particular figure isn't perfect.

Me? I couldn't care less, my opinions are what they are and what others think of them doesn't mean a damn thing.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

When I was a kid I used a lightsaber as a .......lightsaber. Although it existed Who wasn't really on my radar!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I used a red/green broom stick handle as my lightsaber. :monkey2

Mine was an unofficial one bought from a market. It had a blue handle and a white beam so it was hardly Master Replicas standard but it was enough for me at the time :)

My earliest memory of Who is of a tall man in a burgundy coat although at the time I probably would have said something like "This looks rubbish compared to Star Wars".

How things have changed :lol

Here are my pics. Note she is standing on her own. :)

Here is the split on her back.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

It's a purchase for me, not a great likeness but still cool to have another classic companion. What is the split for? just a defect?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

The split doesn't bother me, the left leg joint could possibly be fixed but there's no getting past the horrible likeness....I will not accept a lesser standard just to get certain characters in my collection.
