Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I let them play with all must stuff. They are excited to see it tonight after work. They are aware of its.. erm... limitations. But they like to just run around with it spinning anyways. No insert won't seem to bother them. :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Quick question, as I don't always keep up with the latest news on this line. Can anyone tell me whether that 11 Doctors boxed set is still due to come out late this year? Thanks. :)

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Nice video and pics Marc, FPI's current shipping date for those is June 3rd so I have a little while to wait but that actually makes things a bit easier for me from a cash perspective so I'm fine with that.

I've read a lot of complaning on other sites about the lack of interior insert in the TARDIS but it's a total non issue as far as I'm concerned, the real prop was just a shell so if anything it makes it a bit more accurate.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Thanks for the pics and video, I am waiting even more excitedly for mine now. Leaving the insert out allows me to add what I want inside without messing up a factory insert. Thinking I want to put a black piece of fabric inside removable curtain effect. With an interior shot behind it. Just because I can't make up my mind.:dunno

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I'm amazed yet gratified the 70's Tardis has the correct yet miniature proportions of the real prop- and in the same vein is just an empty junk box inside...prop aficianados would call this screen accurate...
Please tell me Tom figure sits happily posed in the doorway and fits? A picture would be great, guys...!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

So to clarify before I buy -

The Tom figure (with hat) fits into the doorway of the 70's TARDIS over the 'step' as to me it looks like it won't...!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Don't know if anyone else caught this over on the Doctor Who News Page, but:

The success of Doctor Who has helped BBC Worldwide achieve record profits of around £140 million.

Director General Mark Thompson released the figure at a conference at Chatham House in London, ahead of the publication of the annual report in July. Last year the commercial arm of the BBC made £103 million.

Doctor Who is now sold to more than 50 territories, has sold over 3.3 million DVD's and in 2009 sold more than 7 million action figures.

Huh-WHAT??? In 2009 Character Options took the year off from making new action figures in tandem with the show not not having a regular season to give the line a break. The only action figures they made were exclusives. Does the Director General have his figures wrong or has CO taken us for a ride with the classic range exclusives "not making money" ? :gah:

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Look at it this way, UT have extended their deal with the BBC until 2013 so assuming the Mayans aren't right about 2012 ( history can be rewritten ;) ) we're getting at least 3 more years of figures so I think the DG probably had a slip of the tongue which is not the first time someone in his position did so regarding Doctor Who............look at Michael Grade and Colin Baker's wife in the 80's :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

This line is sorely lacking some companions.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I agree. Official word thus far has been no classic companions... but I have a feeling that will change before too long.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I just got my Hartnell but no Susan. :monkey2

I'd love to see some two-packs.

Jamie & Zoe
Jo Grant & Liz Shaw
The Brigadier & Sargeant Benton
Sarah Jane and Harry Sullivan
Leela and Classic K-9
Romanna I & Romana II
Tegan & Nyssa
Adric & Turlogh
Peri and... Sil?
