NEW SPOILER BELOW?? That has actually been confirmed already I believe -

...he's rising thru the ranks at the moment. Micahel Ironside is in this film playing a General so I guess Conner answers to him.

Michael Ironside... awesome. Completely awesome. The voice of Darkseid is going to be in Terminator. I'm liking this movie better and better by the second. :rock

I went to Barns & Nobel a few days about but they had last months... guess it takes a while to get "across the pond." :)

T3 gets way too much hate sure its not the classic the others are and it didnt have that super deadly edge that the other films had, but arnold was back and even though he did have some humour, i still enjoyed it because...it was arnold back in terminator! and i thought it was better then alot give it credit for, even cameron thought it was pretty good. so its kinda unfair to talk so badly about T3 when it built upon the eastablishing story pretty well.

but to not have arnold back at ALL, its just not cool anymore. arnold MADE the last movies for me, and for alot of ppl. sure i love the look of the T800's but at the same time i loved arnold in them even more. for me, no arnold = no fun.

Initially I enjoyed T3 for much the same reason. But its ultimately a shallow film, an unnecessary retread of the first two and it makes too many self-conscious jokes, making it harder to take seriously as part of the franchise. The new trilogy, if all goes ahead, will be showing the time period we've all been wanting to see since at least 1991. Hopefully it'll be great (though I still have doubts) and if it is it will make us wonder why we didn't get this in 2003 instead of yet another film set in the present day with the hunter/protector scenario.

Plus, again Arnie is too old now. Hes in his sixties and he looks it. Sad but true. I would however like to see his image used in the new films - I hope, maybe in 5 or 6, that they do that CG mapping of 1984 Arnolds face onto a younger body to show the model 101s being sent to the past. It'd be great to see some acknowledgement of the original T-800 - just not in a full role at Arnies current age.

After Benjamin Button, I can't see why they can't use Arnie's image. Who knows maybe it might turn up at the end of the movie?

arnold wasnt in his 60's, he was in his early 50's. didnt look bad at all, better then Ford looked in KOTCS. it wasnt arnies age, it was the film. i agree it wasnt as good as the other 3 but i still accept it just like i accept that batman forever, while not as good as burtons batman films, is still alot of fun to watch.

I was talking about his age now which is almost 60 if not 60 already.

As for Michael Ironside - back in the day he could have played a pretty intimidating Terminator - now though I'm willing to bet hes going to get his arm ripped off by one!

whos michael ironside? i keep thinking jeremy irons lol.

One of Ironside's first roles was a memorable turn as evil telepath Darryl Revok in Scanners (1981), an early film by David Cronenberg. His breakthrough role was in the television miniseries V: The Final Battle (1984) as Ham Tyler. He is also known for his roles in Top Gun (1986) as Naval Aviator Lieutenant Commander Rick 'Jester' Heatherly), Extreme Prejudice (1987) as Major Paul Hackett, and Total Recall (1990) as Richter (the murderous henchman of Ronny Cox's villain Cohaagen). Ironside played the villainous General Katana in the sci-fi sequel Highlander II: The Quickening (1991) and, after a brief stint in ER's inaugural season, he was tapped to replace Roy Scheider as captain of the high-tech submarine seaQuest in the third season of seaQuest DSV as Captain Oliver Hudson. However, NBC cancelled the series after only thirteen episodes with Ironside as the star. In 1997, Ironside was reunited with Total Recall director Paul Verhoeven for Starship Troopers. He also appeared in The Perfect Storm (2000) and The Machinist (2004).

Ironside has also been recognized for his voice acting. He played the voice of iconic comic book villain Darkseid in Superman: The Animated Series and its spin-off, Justice League to great accolade. In one episode of The New Batman Adventures, he voiced Batman in a Dark Knight sequence. Another part he also happened to play in the DC Comics universe was Lois Lane's father, General Sam Lane in two episodes of Smallville.

He has also worked in video games as the voice of Tom Clancy's character Sam Fisher in the Splinter Cell games and is cast as the Global Defense Initiative's Lieutenant General Jack Granger in Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Ironside recently signed a 5-year deal to portray Captain Jonas Trager in the Spaceworks Television scifi series, Ice Planet.
