People would be crazy to pay the AVP prices when we will be getting a brand spanking new Scar.

I'd definitely wait to sell any of your 1/6 HT Preds until we get some more information..

It's all about timing. And which website you use (eBay's pretty much a must at this point).

Something will have to go. It's times like this I wish I was on a Doctor's salary.:pfft:

I've pretty much reached the point where I can simply add new stuff to my collection without cycling through the old, but with an announcement like this, space also becomes an issue. Factor in that these are remakes and I'll have to rethink some things.

Yep, space is a _____ at the moment. It's either sell or box up them up for storage. You can fit like what, two 1/4 Preds in a detolf.:(

I was never a fan of putting collectibles in storage. It makes logical sense, but it seems odd to me for some reason. Buying something and it might as well not even be there.

Technically four; two to each shelf, four total in the whole thing. My problem is I was hoping to use my second yet-to-be-assembled detolf for the SSC Alien statue line.

How is space ever an issue?.. Do you guys live in refrigerator boxes?

You still live at home right...

I'll be moving in with my gf this year and won't even have space to swing a cat.

Trust me, if I get a 1/4 P2, that bad boy and his 1/4 spear and spine(pleeease) will have the whole shelf to himself.

I just went through the classic ritual of pacing back and forth in front of my shelves to figure out how I'll afford the money (and space) for these new figures, which is something I do after every massive announcement. Here I was, thinking the only time I'd have to do that this year was during SDCC when Classic and the other SSC Alien statues were announced. :lol

I have a few things I'll be selling: my X-Box, but that was in the cards long before this; my Dead figures, since SSC doesn't seem to be getting back into the line; and my Medicom RAH Alien, once the SSC statue arrives. The 1/4 NECA P1 might have to go, as well.
Not going to lie, I also eyed my HT Predator detolf carefully, but decided to wait a while before making any decisions involving them because the fact is: we have no idea what other Predators they'll make in 1/4 or remake in 1/6. I'll handle the resales of my HT Predators (if I absolutely have to) as specific news unfolds. For now, they're all staying.

Heh, the best part is you can sell a 1/6 AVP Predator collection to fully-finance a 1/4 AVP Predator collection. :D

I've spent the whole day doing the same, though I was in work earlier so it was all in my head. Now that I'm home its as I feared - not so easy to hold onto that selling resolve when you're looking at them in your hands. But if I sold Falconer it would kill my completism for the Rodriguez Predators and I could cancel Tracker predator (who previously seemed so important) and maybe Noland ('maybe' because I love HT human figures). That would leave Berserker, Royce and Classic who, if I decided to keep them, would be be a nice trio to represent that film...OR I could sell them too because if I don't then so much for my 'just P1 and P2' mission statement....which in turn would lead to other Predator purchases outside of the first 2 films and I'm back where I am right now. :gah:

I remember back in 2009 when my mission statement was 'just P1 and P2'. Then that became 'just my favorite from each film'. But then, when the new film came out and I had a good opportunity to score each figure, I realized something: my previous plan of owning just one representative from every movie was conceived only because those Predators were difficult to get ahold of. It's much more tempting to buy everything if you're actually there when they originally go up for sale.

I get the feeling this is 2006 all over again -- but in multiple scales and for three times the money.

P1 and P2 are a must plus your next favorite Predator may work, which in my case is Wolf. A minimum of three sounds like a plan.

Then again, what scale do you go for...:pow :explode:

That's the catch, right there. How do you stop yourself from getting more if you have the chance? For those who got into the game late, their mindset is something like "Well, I missed out the first time, but not now. If I can get all of them when they're released, it's happening."

I could try to keep it to P1, P2, and Elder... but I have this sentimentality for the AVP's. They're the figures and designs I never thought I could own when I was younger. Couple that emotional perspective with the fact that the designs make really cool figures and it's even tougher not to spring for at least one of those.

Like a-dev, no matter what plan I come up with (one representative from each film, etc.), it's still hugely expensive and will require me to sell the other 1/6 Predators that I've spent so much time and money trying to nab.

I think the only 1/6 Predator I'm even remotely comfortable with selling is Lost. :lol If they're making a 1/4 Scar and updating the 1/6 AVP line, I might sell off my AVP's, get Chopper and Celtic in updated 1/6 and Scar in 1/4. Something like that, anyway.

I don't want to sell my Falconer. But if I don't how can I not get Tracker to complete the trio of super preds?! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF________________________________!!!!

Life was easier 6 hours ago when I hadn't read the announcement. Now life has thrown us too many questions.

Tracker is a seriously cool piece, not going to lie. I'd suggest sticking with 1/6 for your "Predators" figures, since it's unlikely HT will tackle anything from that film for at least another year. It's the originals and AVP's that are the problem. Tsang's in the zone with getting those guys out.
