Keep calm guys, Hot Toys is going to give us plenty of time between releases so we can save money and free space from our shelves.....

Right?

Errr, no! Their release schedules have been kicking quite a few people in the balls lately. :lol Its a big problem when you collect more than one license as many of us do.

Not if 2011 is any indicator.

Yeah, seriously.

I hope they do similar announcements for Terminator, Rocky, Rambo and RoboCop and also Aliens.

I want to be excited...but I'm kind of put in a conlicted spot by the announcement of 1/4 figures.

On one hand I'm excited to see what they do, but at the same time pissed because they basically just told us our 1/6ths are obsolete.

I don't know if I'll switch to 1/4th or stay with 1/6th. Lord knows I can't afford to collect both. I still collect Transformers and will be checking out some of the new Marvel Legends too. AHHHHHHHHH

That City Hunter looks awesome but I swear HT will try to sell us some of these before we even lay eyes on the 1/4th offerings.

I love Predator as much as the next guy, but 1/4 scale from all of the movies along with the possibility that they'll redo more of the older figures in 1/6 scale. I might die.

Everybody sell your old Predators!!!!!!! GAAAAHHHHH!!!

We don't even know what will be in 1/6 and what will be in 1/4. Pretty crazy time, this is.

And I'm with you on your last statement. The era of "No, they won't remake them because it ruins the point of collectibility" is officially over. Collectibility doesn't matter to them. If money can be made -- which it can, by the boatload -- they'll do whatever they please.
I'm just hoping for some more-specific news soon, otherwise it'll be very hard deciding how to play their greedy and irresistible game.

It seems logical, they don't receive any money for a figure they released years ago that they may have sold for around $150 and that some people are now selling for.. let's say $400.

Instead of selling again the same figure they decide to produce new and improved versions, no one is going to buy a $400 predator if they can get a better version for $250 or something like that.

Collectibility is not the business of toy manufacturers.

Now that they have this announced I have an itch for a new Giger and Cameron Alien. Next year, we have Aliens: Colonial Marines, the 20th anniversary of Alien3 and Prometheus. If I were HT, it would be a logical step to do this with the Alien as well. The Marines always pop up on remake lists, most notably Hicks. Can you imagine the detail on a 1/4 scale figure of that guy?

Re: New 1/6 Hot Toys Predator2

ten minutes after I saw this picture I had already posted my BD P2 on ebay.
Smart man. So glad I sold mine a few months ago. He was really starting to show his age and I knew his days were numbered.

I hope they don't re-use a single piece from the original. A more sturdy (metal?) spear would be really nice.
