New Hot Toys Tony Stark Figure?

This was in a video on Hot Toys Wesbite:

That looks a lot like a workshop Tony Stark to me between the unfinished boot and the hands. So I guess they aren't quite done with Iron Man 1 yet.

Well it was discussed in the BD Mark 3 thread, but hasn't had it's own discussion.

It is the parts for Tony's final test before assembling the Mark 2.

Be cool if they actually make it, and mind boggling if they go through that work for something unproduced.

Someone postulated that those were just parts from a scrapped DX Iron Man. I'd like that to be true, because I'm ^^^^ING tired of all these HT Iron Man figures (and Tony Stark). Let there not be another until Iron Man 2, plz.

Sorry, I didn't see it there and didn't see its own thread. But since it would appear to be a new figure, I say it deserves its own thread. Plus I'm sure I'm not the only one that didn't catch this in the BD MK 3 thread.

It is fitting, some people might care about this and not the BD.

As for this figure being an overdone Iron Man 1 thing, I'd actually like to see this and/or an actual Stark figure and have the Arc inside the TrueType chest.

I hate how we only get the hero looks for these guys, no Bruce Wayne, pieces to kitbash a Stark, but even the head from Mark 3 really isn't the right look for him in a suit the way the hair is.

I'd love a good Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark.

I'm sure there's a lot of discussion in other threads about this, but I thought it deserved it's own thread. In the recent HK news videos profiling HT, there was this image.

Which appears to be yet another Tony Stark from Iron Man I in his "yea, I can fly" getup of the Mark 2's prototype boots and hand repulsors.

Yes. And seeing as the BD was going to be a DX but they scrapped that so they could focus on IM2 figs, I really doubt there would be another IM fig lined up.

Where'd that info come from?

I guess it's possible this was for a potential DX that will never see the light of day. But that would suck.

It is from a MILK article I believe. It's somewhere in the vastness of the IM BD thread.

Hasn't this been discussed to death elsewhere?! Personally i think it'd be cool to have a test flight Stark. I've no problem with more figures from IM. My problem is with the (understandibly) long turnaround highlighted by the fact IM2 is around the corner...
HT's limited access to pre production reference material is well documented and possibly a major factor in these long gestation periods from a films release to the first pre production figures, let alone the further delay from pre production figure to finished article. As the 1/6 figure market becomes more mainstream and studios realise the potential cash cow, i hope they become a little more forthcoming with reference material for HT's to get a quicker head start...

I'd get one if HT decides to build it. But I don't think they're going to build it. Probably leaked these shots to ^^^^-tease us.

The odds on it being a kit are really bad. Most HT figures don't even have feet and I doubt it'd be filled with a peghole to push it into. Also, it'd have to come with the boots, pants, gray shirt, hands and chest/guantlet pieces...that's a lot. I'm guess it was supposed to be part of a full figure, maybe even the DX that was shelved but I'm hoping it will still come out. That is the version of Tony I want.
