its really kinda sad that something as simple as copy/paste is a big deal at this point ... :lol

The only things not yet working in the U.S. are MMS and Tethering, but both are coming.

I know MMS is coming by the end of the summer but I heard that in the US tethering wasn't coming for a long time due to AT&T holding out. Is that not or no longer the case?

No. Apparently AT&T just has to do stuff to their network infrastructure to make Tethering plausible. Otherwise, it would totally drain their networks if lots of people used it.

So what's the general consensus on screen protectors? Are they necessary or do they screw up the look and feel of an iPhone?

well Ive already heard my local Best Buy's entire shipment didnt come in ....

You want ridiculous? Put it in a Crocs phone holder.

The screen film is a definitely buy. Apple Store has anti-glare film that you peel and stick on the screen and it works wonders. The glare outside on a sunny day is horrible without.

If you wrap it in a ridiculous looking phone condom, then yeah.

Those gelly things are horrible looking but I'm kind of a nut about keeping mine looking new, so I bought the clear hard case to go over.

I bought one of those iFrogz Luxe cases, but that slimcase sure is nice. I like how you can put it in the dock with the case still on.

And thanks for the info on the anti-glare films.

for those of you that are upgrading...........is it apple or at&t who could transfer all my stuff from my 1st gen iphone to the newer one?

Both. AT&T did it for me and set up the SIM but a friend of mine had Apple do it at the Apple Store with the release of the 3G. Just check your bill if you have it done at Apple, they are notorious for not checking off existing parts of the plann and forgot to transfer his unlimited text which he didn't catch until the next billing cycle and had to call to get stuff reversed.
