Some of the other details I personally didn't like about them out:

Jetpack is glued to the back armor and is positioned too high on the back. (Both versions, fixed mine)

Shoulder armor attached on top of shoulder instead of on the vest sleeves. (Both versions, fixed mine)

Ammo belt is all molded plastic not leather. (Both versions)

Honor sash is molded onto the cod armor and not a separate fabric belt. (Both versions, placed embroidery thread over the top of them)

Cheap white wire used for hoses of of the gauntlets. (Both versions, replaced on both)

ROTJ gauntlet missing two hoses. (Made two hoses and attached them)

No sling on the blaster. (ESB)

End of the barrel of the rifles are solid not drilled out. (Most noticeable on ESB version, drilled mine out)

Capes attached under the collar armor instead of on top of the armor. (Both versions)

ESB hip broke on it's own from being in a standing pose (replaced body)

Glossed the visors on both helmets.

After fixing these, I am pretty happy with them.

In fairness (and so as not to give a skewed view of the picture), Natrix, considering you are hyper-attentive to detail (which is not a bad thing, at all), would you say that for the average collector, this figure is good to go right out of the box?

Your mod list is impressive, and was very well executed, but I think we could both agree that these mods weren't necessary to make the figure look great, rather that they were mods to improve the figure to YOU, and collectors like you (of which I am one).

Example: With my Iron Man Marks IV, V, and VI, I hacked the hell out of the necks and hands to improve range of motion. I felt these mods NEEDED to be made so that I could display the figure the way I wanted to, but I don't feel that the figures suffered at all, fresh out of the box, because the parts weren't molded in the way that I modified them.

I just don't want anyone to think that anything is WRONG with the Medicom ROTJ Fett, but rather that your mods are ENHANCEMENTS rather than REQUIREMENTS. Does that make sense?

Well, I replaced the body on the ESB version with a newer Medicom Massive body so he is now the same height as the ROTJ version. They come in just a tad under a SS clone. There is a picture in a little ways back in this thread with a comparison to the clones (not by me). Vice just reposed it a few posts back.

Yeah, not digging Fett being so much shorter than Rex. It fits for Jango though, thats why I wondered how close it was on your conversion.

Agreed!

My pleasure. I couldn't be happier that it seems like my favorite figure of all time is FINALLY getting some respect.

Myself (and a select few others) have tried to tell the board since the figure was released. But old opinions are HARD for some people to see past, so this figure was blasted since before it came out, despite these pictures that you see here. Hopefully that's beginning to change. Not because of which company is better, but because figures like this come out only once in a long while, so instead of bashing it because of a manufacturer, just buy it and rejoice in one hell of a figure!

:goodpost:

I believe anyone that has passed on this figure is just missing out IMO.

I don't think I am hyper sensitive but for $150 dollar figures they cheaped out on several areas and completely missed on others that should have been more accurate out of the box. Even more so on the ESB version for the price. Fett is one of my favorite characters and how his suit looks and all of it's details is a big part of that, which is why the cut corners stick out to me. I am anxious to get the SS ESB Fett and finally get a chance to compare them side by side.

ROTJ is definitely the better of the two Medicom figures out of box and would be fine for the average collector. I liked it but I wanted a closer resemblance to the actual costume than what came out of box so I made mods and now love it. I will still get an SS ROTJ version when it comes out and make any needed mods to it to suit my tastes.

To me, they are requirements if you want a better looking, more accurate Fett. To someone else, they are just enhancements to a good figure they are happy with. It's all a matter of preference.

Fantastic pics, Vice. Did that segmented, clear flight stand come with Jango, or did you buy it separately? If so, do you mind if I ask where from? Would be great with any number of characters for photos.

Damn, totally missed that link, haha. Not a huge Jango fan in comparison to Boba (just like Boba's colour scheme better), but he makes Jango look pretty great in those photos.

Yeah think he's gotta a Boba pose thread somewhere

Those Jango pics are AMAZING!!! :rock

NICE figure - just a little diminutive for my tastes.

I tell you what though guys, I'm almost convinced that if I do get a Boba.. it WILL be a Medi. :lecture :)

I am thinking about selling my ESB and ROTJ Boba, PM if interested. There great figures but i could use the cash.

That's all I'm saying.

There's a few things that I don't care for with the ROTJ, as well, in particular the ears of the helmet.

The shoulder bells bothered me, but I just pulled them off and glued them closer to the cuffs of the vest (ROTJ and ESB, like you). I've been wanting to re-do the visor (You used floor polish, correct?), but all things considered, I am still wowed by what came out of the box.

Since things that are ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL to the character (helmet size/shape, neck articulation, fabric coloring - especially the ammo belt pouches, rifle, spats, color of paint used - not just weathering, I could go on and on) are excellent, I can forgive a few easily-correctable details, even on a $150 figure.

And like alot of us here, as ridiculous as it sounds, I LOVE making a few tweaks here and there to my figures. Believe it or not, one of my least-favorite figures is my Reeve Superman, only because I can't DO anything to it, aside from pose him. Not all of us like to mod, but I do! I treat my figures like I treat my car:

Anyways, the SideShow Fett should be shipping today and I'm very excited. The more Boba Fetts, the better!

Happy Monday, boys! Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks to Natrix i decided to do the mods (lowered the jet pack, visor, shoulder bells) to both my medicom Fetts. The Empire Fett had a busted leg, Therefore i ported it onto the new massive RAH body.
