well most of us wioud've prefered the movie licenses but I'm sure sideshow has thought thsi well out to bring in other online users and maybe this time they'll pull in customers of all different sorts.
I mean, most of their license ARE indeed SCI FI....

My concern is how many of the 7 million WoW fans world-wide are willing to spend $200 on a statue.

Well, if only .5% of the WoW fans were to buy any of these, that would be around 35,000. Not a bad deal for Sideshow....and then everyone could come on here and gripe about the large edition sizes.:monkey5 :monkey1

Hmm, I'm not really excited about this. I would have prefferred a movie license or maybe Halo, but I don't even play the game (actually, I can't play it at all because of my connection) so there's no point. But hey, there's another announcement on January 1st so maybe something else will come out.

Well, I have to agree this is announcement saves me some money. I'm not sure this announcement was worth the build up honestly. I know WOW is a very popular video game but I having met a lot of folks that play this I'm not sure they will plunk down the money for these. I was really hoping for POTC, Indiana Jones, and if they did a video game Halo or GOW.

Last year they built up LOTR and rightly so that was a line that deserved the build up. WOW though will be a cool license I'm sure and I'm glad SS is going to give those fans something to drool over but a month long build up? Ah well saves me more money for LOTR and SW.

Ditto! Absolutely agree!

Had I never watched that South Park episode where they rag on WOW I might be more inclined but at this point I'm yawning and dreading a little what is going to be announced on January 1st....

I'm in no way giving you crap, but I'm just pointing out a problem here. It sounds like you and other people actually believe that the people who play the game really are like the people in that show. In general, most of the people who play are just totally normal people who are just playing a game online. Millions of people are playing it, but that doesn't meant only 10 year old losers play it. That episode of South Park is a horribile representation of the people who play the game. I love the show, but the creators only do shows over hot topics in the world, and Warcraft just happend to get picked. And they always overexaggerate the subject too.

Just like any video game the nerdiness of the players gets exaggerated so that's nothing something I'm taking into account. I play video games online all the time and I'm 25 years old. However, I'm not sure any video game license would sell that well even if it was Halo or GOW. I'm worried for SS that this might be a bit of a stretch and in the end hurt them. I hope it sells well real well infact and that it is one of their hottest lines ever, but I do fear that this line might fizzle out fairly quickly.

i'm sure the best/most addicted WoW players are not little 10 year olds since you pay per hour of how much you play.
Also, if you're "geeky" enough to play video games, buying colectibles won't seem to far-fetched.

I don't mind this license at all.

It shows Sideshow's will go far to please different types of audiences.
soon, it won't only be the star wars and sci fi fans rooting for 1:6 collectibles, statues and other toys.
It'll be a lot of different people.
