I doubt it is a boardie here (though that's possible). It's just simple supply and demand. . .and a lack of scruples by the seller. If they see a BIN selling too fast, and then see ended auctions going for more and more, then they'll put two and two together pretty quickly.

As for the feedback issue, I wish even that were a legitimate fear for sellers. Unfortunately, eBay's feedback system is a farce. Apart from the fact that buyers can't receive negative feedback at all now, any negative feedback disappears after awhile (I think a year), so sellers can just go along their merry way without fear of long term consequences.

Agreed, but I think they can have their seller privileges revoked for serious misconduct like this, backing out of agreed sales, doublin/ trebling prices, relisting?

I am so so glad that I didn't buy from him - you have no idea how close I was to buying from him.

I just rang home to see if Gizmo arrived yet buy nothing so far. Probably will stretch until tomorrow.

I am dying to hook you up but I don't want to be responsible for you getting screwed. That said I am worried about my source selling out.

I am probably not being much help but I really hope that mine works out so you can score one too.

Hey guys - hoping I can make someones day here.

I wanted one of the prop Gizmos for some time but kept holding off and then went into meltdown when I saw them all vanish off ebay.

The GREAT news is that after a bit of hunting I manged to find a store that has A FEW in stock. I made my order yesterday and Gizmo should be with me by tomorow.

I am going to hold off posting any info on the store because whilst I am pretty confident they are legit I have never ordered from them before - the site looks legit, customer service was fantastic and they appear to exhibit at many major conventions and sent Gizmo tracked.

If Gizmo arrives ok then I am more than happy to point you in the right direction - that said any real fans (and I mean people who have been posting in this thread and having probs) who want him please PM me so you can have first pick rather than others who might be lurking here scalping.

The good news is that Gizmo was a VERY reasonable and sensible price.

I sware that I have nothing to do with the potential store - simply am a fellow collector who crapped myself at the thought they had gone and after a bit of research struck gold.

I very much hope I can help another fellow collector here.

That is really nice of you bud and you seem really genuine. Hopefully you can help Rory and Snake out if their ebay dealer bails on them. Hopefully this will all resolve itself and not at a ridiculous price hike

True, but it would probably need to be a repeat offender. Much like selling here on the boards, though, unscrupulous behavior can probably continue for awhile so long as it is just a bum who backs out of deals and not someone who steals money or accepts part of a trade without reciprocating.

I think the best thing I can do is to send the link to both you and Rory at the same time in one message so if for any reason they only have one then at least you both had equal chance.

If you really want me to send the link BEFORE my Gizmo arrives then I don't mind BUT BOTH you and Rory have to agree to that being the case and obviously if there is any probs with the company I take no responsibility.

I am just worried that they might sell out before either of you get a chance to even try for one and you guys deserve to have one.

I realise that - It is more that I don't want to add to their obviously already mounting headache. I would feel bad if they ended up encountering another mess/problem so whilst I want to give them some hope I also would prefer for it to be solid hope.

As I said though if BOTH are happy to take their chances then I really don't mind sharing with them.

Sometimes when people try to be helpful it just makes things worse and don't want to be that person.
