NEW PREDATOR 1 MAQUETTE by Sideshow

Help Support Collector Freaks Forum:
Seen the movie many times and recently and he's not skinny but he's not much bigger than he looks on the statue either. That's just how I see it. I've seen all the production photos as well now.
While it may appear to skinny I think maybe the helmet is the bigger culprit. Considering how it will likely go tehrther SS can easily address the head size the easiest although the leg piece needs to be addressed.
While they do not really have access to what if anything is being done SS Customer Service will tell you they may be fixing it.
Is there any specific issues in the past SS actually fixed or not fixed in regards to post Proto final productions.

They are not, and will not, adjust ANY of the issues identified.
The only unknown so far regarding what is delivered, is if folks will get a mini display base for the 2nd portrait (as they did for the P2 maquette).

The SS Ego is too big to admit errors so nothing gets fixed hardly ever. This, just like the P2 needs a complete overhaul IMO, but they won't even fix the major problems.

Yup, at least not the way Sideshow's maquette is portraying him.
I'm not saying the Predator needs to be fat. He just needs to be thicker in key areas which is evident when you see the movie.
NECA got it right with their 1/4. I just dislike seeing joint lines in my collectibles, which is why I don't have one.
Exactly! In the key area's his waist is too small. Head to Damn big which makes his shoulders look narrow. Slightly feminine look from certain angles. Because of these two issues alone. When I first saw pics I felt something was off and I'm 100 sure it was as I felt it more confirmed coming onto the board seeing what others thought. On the plus side. It looks very detailed

The little pouch on the left side of his belt which is included on the original maquette. Though they did remember to include the leather straps around the elbows and knees on this one which were missing from the original. Of course if I had a choice I would rather custom my own straps than a leather pouch.

Even the 1/5th statue SS produced some time ago included a sculpted pouch on the left side of the belt. Why the inconsistency?

I've not visited this thread for awhile. It's always a fun read. 
For the price and considering they've had 30 years of material to look at this piece is a big pile of crap. Nuff said!

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere so far - here, Statue Forum, Facebook - nowhere. Good catch!
Guess we were too blinded by all the other glaring errors

I sent this list to SS to someone I have spoken with many times about the statue just to say how SS is throwing a lot of money down the tubes because they can't fix what's on this list. I'm like who is approving these things and that they should not be in charge of important stuff if they have total disregard. I'm like you should be able to blow it out of the water but instead you sell a statue with these issues.
Don't expect crap but it's bullspit. Skinny or not there are other worse things that make thin not the Predator. I like the statue in general but no pouch even lol gtfo.

Igo, their art director, said they would do better on the next Predator after admitting shortcomings with the P2 Maquette
