Why can't Sideshow do anything right? Everything they create always has something off enough where the final product becomes a dud! If the hand made and painted prototype looks this bad rest assured the production piece will be far worse.

The armor on that right leg..........must be falling off the Predator..........FAIL! The likeness and shape of the head remind me of the Elder more than P1..........FAIL!.


This pose reminds me of a fashion model. Way off from how a Predator would stand. The pose destroys the mystic of the character and is way too soft for a celestial killer...........FAIL!

Holy crap your very harsh man. However some points are valid. I'm gonna pretend tonne confident this will blow everyone away! Can always dream I guess. Personally I've listened to some people on this thread that thinks it's not bad at all. So I'm gonna hold off judgement until release date and in hand.

This thread has gone to the Twilight Zone.

I remember when everyone complained about Wolf Predator for having meshing on his legs.. Now it's considered a grail... Many here complained about the P2 maquette and swore to never buy it and then they bought it. Now it's Jungle Predators turn I guess.

And now we are here.. Hoping that a company stops making something because??? Well just because... It's Not because they are the only ones in town that own the license since others now have the license also. So I am not sure of the logic.

I am all for difference of opinion... I am all for expressing ones opinion on something they don't like. I have done it myself. But I never hoped that a company would just stop making a product. I just choose to ignore the product.

I realize this has been a major let down for many because they have been waiting... But SSC is not changing anything. It is what it is.. So vote with your wallet and don't buy it..

This thread basically sucks because the same people come here and say the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over over about the same 20 pics...

When In hand photos come out and it is worse then the proto then I can see the uproar rightfully happening again. But if it comes out looking like the proto and people continue complaining about the same thing then this will officially be the worst thread ever.

If it turns out great I wont be posting any pics.. Not here anyways... Why do it?? So there can be 50 more pages of the same thing being said.

Again... I am not saying don't complain. Its your opinion and you can express it. I love the different opinions people have.. But hoping a company just stops making a product when you can choose to just stop looking at their products anytime you want is just weird to me and I guess its what caused me to post this..

I have always been happy with my SSC pieces. I have yet to get a piece that was not close to proto. I know there are pieces out there that have failed but I have been lucky enough I guess to pick pieces that have been deemed a success. I see every issue people are complaining about but it does not bother me as much. I am also hopeful that in hand, things like the oversized helm and thin body are not as a apparent. I know that people who have seen this in person at sdcc have been impressed. If SSC gets this close to proto I think I will be happy.

I have always been happy with my SSC pieces. I have yet to get a piece that was not close to proto. I know there are pieces out there that have failed but I have been lucky enough I guess to pick pieces that have been deemed a success. The predator 2 statue was a let down and I passed on it, was going to buy it and get a complete overhaul but I was thinking, Cmon that is too much, but I won't be missing out on this piece. I bought dutch back in August 2016, so need the hunter has a companion piece. What I see so far I am pretty happy with it, in a way I am happy its got negativity, does not pressure me not ordering it most of the year, but overall its a wonderful piece for my money. If others don't like it, its a shame but it wont put me off buying it

Just to add... It seems SSC has been doing better as of late. Brown Wolverine PF, Spider-man PF, Red Sonja, PF, Hulk vs Wolverine Maquette, Dark Phoenix pf, Captain Marvel PF, Green Goblin PF, Boba Fett PF, Vader PF have all been near proto quality. I am hoping for the same here.

Overall I like what I see... My biggest complaint is he seems a tad too thin. But I really think in person he will look fine.. I can't tell you how many times a piece looks a bit off with SSC pics and then looks fantastic in hand or other In hand photos... true that P2 was a bit frustrating with the paint apps... But man most that got that seem happy with it and the videos of it look great. Like you I am more in need of a Jungle Hunter since it comes from the best film.

1st... I was not drinking My comments earlier are valid.

2nd... Don't own any of them. Stan Winston's Shoulder Blaster is too big and Predator never did that exact pose in the movie... Thus it's crap and CM Predator does not look like jungle Hunter predator (I know artist interpretation) so it's crap also... J/k.... I have never been a fan of the Winston one. I never cared for the pose. I love the CM version and think it's the best one out there. I don't collect busts.

Add to that when the CM version came out I was not in a spot in my life where I would have paid that much for a statue. I would now.

3rd... I should have said my fav. Pred film... I meant no harm or foul with that comment. Guess I also figured that most seem to think that it is the best of the Predator films. Sorry to the 3 or 4 out there who don't agree

Yeah... SSC wise I owned some of the 1/5 scale maquette (Wolf, Elder, and Jungle).. Elder Predator was best but all were just too small. I was also underwhelmed by the other two quality wise. I had the Neca 1/4 scale but no matter how hard I tried with giving it a better base it was still toy looking and too small.

I wanted to get higher end Predator but the CM is the only one I thought was worth it. I know you will find this hard to believe but if I had too choose between the SW version and this new one... assuming both are equal in QC then I would pick this new one.

Just stop looking at the pics and ignore the product and in a way they have stopped making them (as far as you are concerned).

I love Godzilla collectables and there are many companies that put out crap (to me) but I could care less if they keep making them... Let alone ***** about them making them .

Jaws, the way you're hoping this will magically look better proportioned in person.... Is exactly how the pose on the original SWS version changes. It often looks awkward in pictures, but in person it is amazing! Also, the Predator did do that exact pose in the movie... He was just cloaked at the time.

This new one is okay, I'd like one actually, but it will be $2k+ to the UK. Okay isn't good enough for that even though I did give in and order the P2 which had way more issues. I'm hoping Prime 1 will surprise us all with something amazing soon, even though I own the SWS I still kind of want this (But I won't be buying it)

Well I can believe that as I have seen other pieces that have done that... I did not know that about the piece. Since I have never seen it in person I could only go by the pics... But yeah.. Like I can believe that what you said is true.

$2K... Very few pieces are worth $2K. So I don't blame you for not picking this up... I had some reward points that brought down the price.. ot sure I would have gotten it for 1300.00 either.. But again there are very few pieces that I find worth 1300.00

Actually - I'd rather they didn't do ANYTHING Predator related - period - and left it to folks who care enough about the characters and fan base to do a good job.

That being said - the ONLY movie Pred I'm now left interested in at a larger scale (1/4 or 1/3) is the Elder.

Just because this is not the Predator piece you want does not mean that other "fans" don't like it. Along with all the other Predator pieces that SSC has made that have sold out and people are happy with.

Again I just don't get the post, upon post, about a piece from a company you don't want to see anything more from... Pay no mind to this company and it's items and look up the many great fan made items out there until P1 comes out with theirs.

Only thing I would agree with in you statement is that SSC came across as not caring for the fans because of the Leg plate.. Other then that its a piece that I understand SSC standing behind. Fans don't like it they don't have to buy it.


In all honesty this thread has become a head nodding thread for those that don't like the piece.

I ignored the thread for a while as it is basically a dead one... Took a peak to see if there was anything new to be said... Nope.

I posted this after you made sure that my opinion on Pred 1 being the best Pred was just that... An opinion.


So my original post about a 150 post proving that Predator 1 is the best pred movie is the same as anyone posting a 150 times how bad this Predator statue is. Which I am pretty sure I could quote you on... Perhaps you where being sarcastic and that is what the wink meant...
