As long as SS continues to use that cheap azz "packing" figures will continue to arrive with banged corners. SS knows that carriers are not careful with packages which is more infuriating when they arrive with no cushioning. Common shipping knowledge is pack your item then hold it 5-6 feet and drop it on a concrete surface....will it get damaged or dinged?.....COME ON SS, WAKE UP AND HELP US GET WHAT WE PAY FOR IN MINT SHAPE!!!!!!!!!!!

And you talked about my tone earlier? You seem to have a pretty disrespectful tone with SS. Kind of the pot calling the kettle black huh? :lol

It seems they are getting what we pay for in mint shape and thats the product inside. Again, I'm buying we're buying the figure not the box.

First, the doorbell rang. I opened it...to find the box on my doorstep with the UPS guy running down the walkway back to his truck. He didn't even wait to see if I was home.

You're lucky he rang the doorbell. They teach you during training to honk, ring the doorbell/knock, and the hide package from plain view but not so much the customer won't find it. I remember in driving class they said a driver hid a package in the bushes away from the front door. :lol

Unless a signature is required the driver does what is called a driver release. They grab the package off the shelf, scan it, and hit delivery for whatever area they leave it. All business deliveries require a signature but residential deliveries are a way a driver can make up time because you can get them off the truck fast. During the holidays drivers get helpers who just run the package from the truck and then run back.

With any delivery service it depends on the workers in your area. UPS stacks the trailers to the ceiling so the unloaders are supposed to use "load stands" to reach the high packages and raise the belt vertically so they dont have to drop them. It all depends how much supervision is taking place at each facility and if they enforce proper loading/unloading methods.

-so why boxed the figure in the first place???
-why does Sideshow spend much time and money for the print and packaging style???
-why not just put the figures in some box and send it to us if "we" are just paying for the figure and not the box???

The bottom line is that there are those who do not care about the box and then there are those who like their figures in mint boxes.

Also, I should add I've seen what packages normally make it through the UPS system ok on a daily basis and those that don't. For example, Dell does a great job packing their products and using thick cardboard so I almost never see one crushed. On the other hand, 1-800-Flowers or whatever that website is always has boxes crushed. Do not order flowers over the internet because chances are they will be crushed.

It depends how well the shipper packs their products. You never want to leave space in a package since it allows the opportunity for it to be crushed but at the same time the support around the item needs to be thick enough to absorb the punishment a package will receive while being processed through the entire system.

Well, they have to put the figures in something. In order for the item to make it in mint condition

That's a good question. I love what SS does with the boxes and they are neat to read. So I give a big thumbs up to Sideshow Q and his gang! I just care more about the figure inside than the condition of the box.

Well, these do have to be packaged a certain way to make sure they arrive intact.

I agree. It seems though for the most part the majority of the pieces make it with no issues. Just a few seem to be reported on here at least with any kind of an issue. So it sounds like it aint broke really. So why the need to fix it.

I do understand as I said the concerns of folks who like MIB figures. Though, it makes much more sense on the 3 3/4 figures much more so than 12" IMO of course.

If my Anakin were to arrive in this shape, I would return it immediately! This is unacceptable!

Vader didn't. Just the box. Look at the pics the figure is just fine.:D

I had UPS drive a forklift through my GG Dewback box and brake the figure inside.......... All the shipping companies are the same the more they handle and the faster they do so, the more they get paid. Care for our packages is at the end of the list of their priorities.

I know the figure is fine! I just like my boxes "uncrushed":D !

Me 2. The case I'm making is for most cases we deal with. In this instance I would want a new box as well because you can't even repackage it when you move. Not that 12" figures are that fragile mind you but you all get what I'm saying. So I agree in this case Wor Gar has a right to be upset about his box and ask for a new one. :D

My box came today finally and it was a bit crushed. I wonder if they will send a replacement. Its not as bad as the first poster but it still got compacted pretty good on the front center of the box.

If they do have replacements how long does it normally take them to get out.

So has anyone heard anything about getting a replacement box for Sith Anakin yet from Sideshow. I sent an email in Friday and got a reply that they were sending it to the returns department.
When something like this happens do you normally have to send the figure back if its just the box the figure itself is fine jsut the front of the box was smashed in.

I think they have just been sending people the flattened new box in a cardboard mailer... but I haven't had to do this yet (Knocks on wood).

Yes, that is what they do.

Well that good I guess, but want the boxes get messed up mailing them like that. I would be willing to pay to have a new one sent with loads of packing materials. I have already requested all of my new orders to be double boxed. I just hope that i can get a new box for this one. Mine wouldnt be so bad if the place that was smashed in was not in the front of the box in the middle.

I received my Anakin - the shipping box was great, but the Anakin box was still crushed; I called SS and spoke to Aimee and due to the damage, I am shipping my Anakin back and they will send a new one - while I wish I did not have to mess with this, I do love that SS gives a crap and have a really awsome attitude - Aimee is a pleasure to deal with, I must say :chew

Hey did you actually call and speak to her. I was just wondering because when I called they told me it would be voicemail and it could take 5 days to get back in touch with me.

My first (regular) Anakin arrived crushed to hell and SS were nice enough to send me a pristine new box free of charge.Considering they paid for it to be sent Fed-Ex out of their pocket, they go down as the #1 customer service I've ever dealt with in my book.

They are also now double-boxing my orders which is a good thing because I picked up my Sith Anakin today and one corner was totally smashed in. Lucky with the air bubbles inside, my actual box was flawlessly perfect.

I am a happy camper for sure. The figure and especially the paint job on the eyes and lips look amazing.

I do agree though that SS should double-box all of our orders regardless since they made such perfect boxes and should want them to arrive to us like they designed them.

Did you call or email them.

I just emailed them.

They were very quick about everything. Got my reply the next day and the replacement box in about 3-4 more.

It does come flat but I had absolutely no trouble putting it together, in fact is was kinda fun.

NOT that I want to have to do it again!
