I will put on my kid gloves for some of you. I'm not saying this statues legs aren't messed up. He definitely deserves a replacement. All I'm saying is that SS wants to make their customers happy, they want repeat business, so what possible reason would SS have for saying they have no replacement parts when they do in fact have them?? My THEORY is that some people nit pick, cry, and harass SS so much that SS doesn't want to deal with them. SS can never make them happy so they would rather just give them a refund than play the "swap out parts" game with them. I complain about complainers on this site. If that makes me a hypocrite then so be it. I love this hobby, I think SS is a great company, and so I'm going to stick up for them from time to time.

Listen here masterbaiter! Haha sorry, just wanted to say it.

I agree. I think if people email in being very negative and insulting the CS agent, then they just feel less likely to comply.

For non-US collectors a full refund still involves fighting with your local gov to get your taxes back...it is a long, drawn out process which isn't always successful. SS knows this and I am suggesting it is a factor in their decision making.

If they truly don't have replacements, fine. But at least offer a decent discount to help offset the cost to fix the problem.

If you act like an arse that's how you're going to get treated but who's to say that was the case here. (That goes for you as well MB).
Unless you know the facts behind each individual request, that's a big assumption to make.

First email was this,

Thank you very much for your patience while I examined your pictures and our stock. After checking, I don’t believe we will have a replacement for your Spider-Man body that would be a significant improvement. I apologize for any disappointment this may cause you

We can, however, replace the hand and exclusive head for you. If you would like to receive this part, please reply to this email and confirm. if you accept this option, we can also provide you a $30.00 Sideshow credit for the marks on the legs.

Daniel Campisi

Then I tried to send more pictures, second email was this

Thank you very much for your email and your additional pictures. I can see the issue you are reporting on the legs, but unfortunately we do no have a replacement for the body at this time. I'm very sorry for any disappointment this may cause you you.

As mentioned before, we can replace the hand and exclusive head for you. If you would like to receive these pieces, with the new picture you provided, I can increase the previous credit offer to $50.00 Sideshow credit for the marks on the legs.

I am a SSC fan but I don't like this... Those legs are bad and they should offer to take it back and send you a whole new piece... There is no reason not to. It's obviously an issue and a bad one that ruins the look of the statue... This is not some small complaint like "one of the web lines are not painted" This is a big issue.. IMO this is a ruined statue.

The only explanation can be that SS is punishing nit-picking, whiney @ss, overly sensitive little ******es. This statue was my first QC complaint. They immediately sent me a new head and hand and put me on a waitlist for a body. I had to wait a whole week for them to send an email saying my body has been shipped. I should be receiving new body any day now. So I'm just going to assume all the cry babies chickens have come home to roost...I think that's the saying. You've hounded SS so much in the past that they don't want to deal with you anymore. Why else would I get almost immediate replacement parts and others not??

Pot, meet kettle.

Maybe they actually ran out of replacements. Crazy idea I know!

I get what Master Blaster is saying (though he could have said it better) I wonder how much SSC keeps tabs on who took replacements and who complains about the small things... Having said that the issue with the paint coming off the legs is a big one and I don't care how man times someone has complained and how small the reasons might have been. This is a pretty big issue and should be made right.

Btw... I am not saying SuperJ300 is a repeat complainer. I don't know anything about the guy :) Just saying I get what MB was saying.

I think SS defn has a **** list, and if your on it, your going to get F'd when it comes to replacements. Not saying that's the case here, but I see it as a possibility.

Customer service, for its very nature, should work on a case by case basis. If there are 100000 people nitpicking and then there's a guy who genuinely has issues, he shouldn't get the stick because of what other people do. I've also seen a number of people posting about this PF on Facebook and the fact that Sideshow is not replacing defective pieces, some guys posted their whole email exchange with Sideshow and none of them has been rude or overly nitpicking.

And to add to that, I went through something similar with my Conan PF. I had to stitch together ONE sane statue out of FOUR different replacements with issues, I sent them a damn strong email (not abusive) and they immediatly took action as opposed to when some of my fellows sent them super gentle 90 degrees bent over kind of emails.

Sideshow seems to be king when it comes to mixed media pieces. When it comes to fully sculpted, they seem to do a good job on the piece itself, but try to save money on the packaging.

Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and either tell the factory to let each body dry for longer , or use something other than tissue paper.I would do a running change to this process to yield a better outcome. They have a huge ES so they have plenty of time to improve.

I have two more payments before I get my EX. With the issues some people are having I may just pay it off so I can stop worrying about it and see what I end up with.

This piece is simply amazing if you can get one with minor or no flaws.

Definitely. I saw the regular on sale at a somewhat local comic shop. Immediately ordered the EX. I just checked and saw that I only had one payment remaining, not two, so I paid it off. So badly looking forward to this guy. Here's hoping for little to no issues.

It's a shame that as collectors we are desensitized to the fact we paid 500USD for a piece, and it is acceptable to have minor flaws.

I must admit I am one who has accepted the minor flaws. :)

Fingers crossed for you brother. Mine has little to no flaws. And when I say that I mean there is like a tiny spec of blue on the red. And maybe a little area where blue paint was layered on too thick and it looks slightly wavy. But I think it actually looks like texture to the suit. Which brings me to my next point...

Next point being that people need to understand going into this hobby. Even the pieces with 10000... That's still pretty limited in the worldwide perspective. Also, these are fragile hand painted objects. Some will come broken, some will come with minor flaws. Sideshow collectors need to come to terms with this and be happy that the company offers full refunds.

There is not a single item that is hand crafted and painted that shows up flawlessly. In regards to this piece. It looks like the factory used the incorrect packing tissue and also rushed the shipping while paint was still not completely dry. Both of which, not sideshows fault. And to those that say sideshow should take the time to peak into every single box and do a QC check if their factories are faulty.... Get out of here. That's more staff, longer production times and higher cost. None of which I want haha

In the end, if people want flawless pieces... Make and paint them yourself.

I've been reading some pages back about these obvious flaws about this Spidey and you can expect that SS will not do anything about it and other PFs anymore. They have gotten very strict and now they are refusing to help even when it's a serious paint or chip issue. They used to be good in replacing a microscopic paint speck on your statue that was hardly a big deal, but now they got sick of people complaining about their particular PF problem. It is what it is. Just ask for a full refund with free return shipping which thank god we can still get. And concentrate that other new product will be better. Nothing else we can do about it and no going postal about it is not the solution. :lol:lol

Mine came really bad
