If these are the clowns that SS have that are painting 1 solid color of blue that they can't get right, then that is a total shame. Then with an airbrush you put in the darker tones to bring out the definition of his muscles, so how hard can that be for supposedly pretty good painters. It's so obvious that horribly painted leg was done on purpose.

It's not a 'simple free return' for International customers and there's a huge difference between damage in transit and a statue being packed with wet paint and ending up looking like $#**

Mine came really bad

That is horrible looking. Where is the Quality Control?

Yeah, this thread is getting depressing!

I guess I was lucky that I must have gotten one of the first full body replacements before more and more shoddy paint jobs were delivered to customers and SS stopped sending out full body replacements. I feel bad for anyone getting bad paint jobs, but then SS not making it right it just unacceptable in my opinion! Stuff like this makes me feel better about not planning on buying many (if any) more PFs or items from SS in the future.

From a manufacturing standpoint, that damage on the leg could have happened for a number of reasons once the piece itself was painted. From packaging - transport - destination all while being handled with the elements possibly playing its part. That may not have anything to do with the factory at all. There have been a few that look like that and I would suspect they were all in the same batch.

I don't think I would buy these things if I resided overseas cause it's nothing but a hassle spending more money just to be disappointed by a crappy executed statue. Unless SS really guaranteed a complete review of your statue before shipping. Yeah, yeah, I know they won't do that, but it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Sideshow won't change mine!!! Gutted!:(
Just when they were winning me back!

I won't disagree that this is worthy of a replacement, but I think that people should realize that this isn't a QC issue that would have been apparent at the factory when the statue was placed in the box, but rather something that happened in the box. Either the paint or the polystone under it wasn't cured properly when the statue was boxed up so that most likely cause the paint to rub.... I would be willing to bet that, similar to some of the pics earlier in this thread, you may very well find some paint in the wax paper that your figure was wrapped in. As for them not having replacements that are better I actually don't doubt it at this point. This entire batch is sold out and I bet most of if not all of the replacements are gone too. I wonder if you asked if you could be put in a waitlist for a new body of they would do that for you. Again I am not saying it isn't worthy of a replacement, it just isn't an issue that espoused when it was boxed up.

This isn't a painting issue it is a packaging issue I guarantee it.... No way a painter actually did that

Yeah, I concur now after seeing that pic of the blue rubbing off on the packaging paper. Ok so it's not the painter's fault. It's actually the packager's fault for not waiting for that paint to dry. It still sucks and there's no excuse for something like that to happen unless you're dealing with inexperienced people handling these statues. :gah:

I'm really hoping they get the word out to the packagers to let the paint dry before wrapping and shipping out. The first set of releases and photos that people posted looked great.

It could just as easily be the freight carrier and not packing.

This is true.... If these were stored in an overly hot and humid area you never know

Was thinking about getting this one but with all of the quality issues, I am real hesitant.

Nah, don't let that influence your decision. It's a great statue and that swinging pose is truly epic. You're stateside so if it's a lemon you can get send it back and then tell the world about your negative experience.

Right. It's really interesting how that is. The earlier in hand pieces were really good. Yet ...somehow now we are seeing issues. Baffles the mind.

Were these wrapped in the foam paper?
Shouldn't be scratching up in transit. If that was the case every statue would be scratched up. China to Cali then Cali to around the world.

There would be if the product was dropped, crushed, squeezed, etc... even if you don't see it on the outside packaging as the actual product is the most fragile part and not the packaging. While this is not the norm, it happens all the time. Which would suggest that it's a smaller number of pieces and not the whole lot. From port to container to port to final destination anything can happen. I deal with these types of issues daily.

These wouldn't leave the factory like this, that's a fact, if any factory want to stay in business.
