One year of off topic threads ranging from Venom overrated or underrated as a character
Someone saying another Venom why? We can have Vulture. Then someone runs with Vulture being better. Three pages later posing pictures of Vulture comic poses. Then someone critiquing a comic Vulture pose. Someone running with it as if the Vulture pose is cannon Sideshow is doing.
A 2 month lull then someone bumps it when Venom XM is released
EX goes on wait list. People go crazy rushing thinking they missed out on a grail or investment.
Then it gets released date.
2 pages of final shipping notices
2 pages of mine come on *insert date*
First person says they got theirs
12 people panic he hast posted pic in 3 hours and threatens to kill his entire family
Dude has a ton of stuff to do with his family but feels all the SSF hate towards him so he unboxes super fast then shoots super fast pics in bad lighting with flash and on a camera phone really fast so it's kind of crappy.

More come in it looks good but a neck seam kills it for the other people who have original Venom.
XM Gize step on it for still being a California Raisin
The damaged statues show up. Epic Fail!
Most people start to like it.
Prime 1 gize laugh at how small it is

Most recent one I can remember is the Frank Miller Batman from Prime 1. And before that, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Batman, Arkham Knight. Can't remember the last time it happened with Sideshow pieces though.

After watching a few vids on YouTube of both this and XM's from NYCC, I like the SS version more. More of a bestial vibe and more imaginative than XMs overall. Barring some catastrophic failure, as long as SS can deliver on the paint this should come out looking great. Venom has a lot of highlights throughout. White spider on XM's looks horrible.

Can all be found at retail easily. Last time people panicked was for Batgirl, and it dropped in value. Same for Lobo, I've found a bunch for under retail actually.
Seriously the preorder is like this: if a piece done in the thousands sells out before you buy, you waited too long. If it sells out, jump on the waitlist early and it will 100% convert. Or buy at retail from people who unload pretty much always. If you really miss out, pay 50$ above retail and buy it. End of the story. There is not a single PF that has really appreciated in value for years now, I think.

Ah yes, that one (with the X Force variant still quite easy to find and a new PF happening). Other than that, I think you can count on one hand how many PFs appreciated in value sensibly in the last 5 years. Also, Exclusives selling out don't really count much when there are tons of Regulars laying around... don't think I've ever seen people panicking about missing out Batgirl's batarang or Spidey PF switch out hand.
So this will happen, it will go on preorder, the exclusive will be available for over one year (i.e. Dark Phoenix), then it will be available for months after release either on the site, through waitlist or at retail on Facebook groups/Ebay, then it will finally sell out and appreciate a bit, so unless people want to wait 3 years to order they're safe.
Never liked at all this boards mentality of generating hype over things that will be readily available for such a long time.

Batgirl's EX isn't even as cool as a switch-out batarang. It's a super lame almost identical portrait to the regular save the slightly shorter, curlier hair.

To many choices now, PF's are depreciating in value as more and more statues of the same characters are coming out from other companies... Although you do have exceptions to the rule, I did make a ok profit on Harley Ex I just sold
